I stayed 5 hotels during my trip. I understand the good price in Switzerland is very expensive so this hotel provides a individual pack of 10ml shower & shampoo gel for each person. And they didn't provide us the pack on our last day. No coffee machine. A little bit overpriced.

The location is great - 2mins walk to the cable car station. The room has a large space and 2 showers. The bed is comfort to sleep. The staff are very nice. The hotel has a good italian restaurant at the ground floor.

The rooms were very hot in summer with no air con and there was a real problem with flies in the rooms if windows were open (although that may have been throughout the village). Cooking smells from the restaurant below were intrusive at times and certainly attracted the flies.

The property was in a good position with great view. Staff were always very helpful. Breakfast was simple but appreciated.

No aircond but Grindelwald is not too hot in early summer, so it was bearable.

The room was very spacious, biggest we’ve stayed in throughout our trip in Switzerland. We’re so lucky to secure it as all other mid-class hotels were booked for summer since the year before! Since the hotel is part of a restaurant, it was easy to find food. It’s right next to the cable car going up to First Mountain, and only a short walk away from the train station.

We were afraid we needed a heater in the first evening, since the air got quite chilly. It was mid-June. But we couldn't find one in the room. However, it was only a feeling it was cold, eventually we didn't need heat in the room. But it would have been nice to have some heat source at hand in case it was really needed. Breakfast is ok, but please get rid of the coffee machine with pads. A regular coffee machine is way better, and doesn't create so much waste. Parking is free for guests, next to the hotel, but be careful; we had some marks on our car from someone who didn't fit on the narrow road :( (we were parked 100% correctly between lines, and it was a small car).

The hotel is right next to the Bus station and First cable station. It is above a pizza restaurant, quite busy in the evening, so expect some kitchen smells on the corridors. However, we had no smells in the room. It is really close to a wide range of restaurants, we even found bars with great views on the surrounding mountains. Room was bigger than expected, clean, and pleasant.

Very clean and comfortable hotel right next to the Grindenwald First gondola. Great homebase to visit three or four other mountain cities from. Short walk to grocery stores. Enjoyable local dining. The beds were extremely comfortable with wonderful pillows. The showers were large and had good water pressure.The breakfast was well above standard. Exceptional cappuccino and croissants. The staff was very engaging and professional. Parking was free. We would definitely stay here again and happily recommend it to others.

Pricepoint was on the high side, though probably comparable for the area/ Switzerland in general.

Location was great - perfect to base ourselves to explore Grindelwald for a few days. Rooms were comfortable, spacious and good facilities. Breakfast was great (we forgot this was included in our booking and it was a really great surprise) - lots of options and great service. Free parking on site was really convenient too. Despite being right in the town, we woke up to peaceful birds and cows in the morning which was really relaxing. Staff were fantastic- shout out to Jenny for making a 10/10 hot chocolate for me!

Unfortunately, ther WiFi wasn't working for the 2 nights we stayed there. Our room was on the main road and, although it was quiet during the night, the traffic started around 5h.30 and we needed to keep the windows open as it was very warm.

The staff was exceptional - helpful and friendly. If arriving by car, recommend heading directly to the car park which is just behind the hotel : look out for Sunstar hotel on the right, then turn left and immediately right along Guggengasse and you'll see the private parking spaces of the hotel. Breakfast good with excellent coffee & friendly Jenny to make sure we had everything we needed. Well situated close to town and bus stop just outside hotel. Nice Italian restaurant.
