The room was a bit small, for the price I paid. The staff at reception were not friendly, considering the high category of this hotel.

Excellent location just a few minutes away from the Central train station. It is an old style hotel but it has been fully refurbished. Good wifi.

The outlet next to my side of the bed did not work, as well as the hairdryer in the bathroom. We never complained about these two things, but I'm sure many would. These things should be checked periodically. The bathroom was clean, but extremely small. The room and bathroom reminded us of the size of a room on a cruise ship. The temperature thankfully was in the low 70s for our stay, but the AC needs a complete overhaul. It gets hot. We ended up opening the window throughout the night to allow the cool air in, which helped a lot. Luckily, we were not against the busy street though, as I'm sure that would be loud.

The breakfast was hands down the best experience of the three hotels we stayed at throughout Switzerland. Beautiful spread. Delicious flavors and options. The location of this hotel is perfect too, if shopping and eating is your thing while in Zurich.

Brilliant position for trains and trams to all part of the city . The property has excellent staff and are so happy and that makes the stay very pleasant . Breakfast was terrific and fuelled us for the day . Highly recommend.

We had booked two rooms for a family vacation in Zurich. There was a small issue during our stay, but the staff handled it promptly and professionally. Overall, a pleasant experience thanks to their excellent service.

Reception staff pretty slow at dealing with customers. Breakfast was good - Continental with some hot coooked dishes. Staff in hotel generally - pleasant though the atmosphere of hotel in general was business like and formal. Very small room and quiet but dark. Best feature of the Gotthard hotel is outdoor cafe/bar which looks onto Main Street. Good food and excellent place to sit and watch the passing crowd with coffee/cold drink or glass of wine on warm afternoon/evening. Generally - the hotel room rate a little expensive - bed was a bit hard compared to other 4-5 star hotels.. -

My wife and I have been staying at the St. Gotthard since 2017 and we were "at home" during every stay including the dark days after the COVID Pandemic. Since then I have noticed that the hotel and its staff have come to the point where I can feel that "I am at home". The location is ideal if one has to travel by train, as the ZRH Railway Station ist 150 meters away, The famous Bahnhofstrasse is ten steps to the right and reaching Kloten Airport is no more than 20 minutes. As for the "in House" services, the Breakfast Buffet has always been the typical Swiss Breakfast with all options you would need and was always to our satisfaction. The personnel that has been working for quite an number of years are happy to see a returning customer and that makes one feel at home. When a group of US visitors landed yesterday early midday on August 01, 2025 en masse, they were very quickly checked-in and the Managing Director was personnally checking the guests in and seing that they got to their rooms asap. A little hiccup when we checked in as I requested a connecting room but the first guy said there was no connecting room available but the second guy looked again and said there is one but apparently the other was tiny compared to the one I booked. They said that is the only connecting room but I said “ yes, but it wasn’t not the room I payed for. They gladly corrected the mistake and put me in a nicer room. A little old or rustic but maybe that is the vibe of the Hotel.

I liked the proximity to all the sites, trains, and restaurants. The staffs were very helpful and patient to all of my questions.

It’s a great property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Just a few minor issues: - the bed was hard and not very comfortable - the shower was the handheld type and the pressure was so so - the hotel is quite pricey Overall we loved staying here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff is excellent and so so helpful!

While our stay had some positive aspects, there were a few challenges we encountered that are worth mentioning. On the positive side, the hotel was clean and the service was very good. Staff were helpful and polite throughout our stay, which we appreciated. However, accessibility was an issue in certain areas. For instance, there were stairs leading up to the hotel entrance, which made it quite difficult to enter with a baby and stroller. We faced a similar problem with our room—although there was an elevator, there were additional stairs between the lift and the room itself. Another concern was that the room door could not be locked from the inside. As we were traveling with a baby, this was an important safety feature that we felt was missing. Additionally, the design of the bathroom made showering quite inconvenient. There was no proper barrier or partition to contain the water, so the entire bathroom floor would become wet after each use. We hope the management will consider these points for future improvements, as the cleanliness and quality of service were otherwise commendable.
