Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

TurkeyIt was difficult to get answers to my questions since there is no reception in the hotel. They dont provide guest card for public transport unlike other places in Bern which was a downside.
I love the included breakfast! It was enough and delicious. The room was good, the view from my window was peaceful. I love the fact that there is a coffee machine in the room. Only 20mins from city center.

BelgiumCoffee machine in the room was unfortunately not working. Breakfast is included but not located in the hotel (bakery very close by, 3 min on foot), but still had to put on a jacket and get out
Autonomous check-in. I arrived late (around midnight) and the instructions to obtain the keys were very clear. Room was very clean and modern. Not located in the city center but very easy to access from Bern Train Station

ItalyThe self check-in system wasn’t described anywhere on Booking and it was a terrible surprise, especially because the code they sent by message was incomplete and we had problems getting inside. The entrance was completely dark (lights were not working), the hotel felt abandoned and haunted, since there was a fully set table in the dark for nobody which was creepy as hell. The shower poured water outside the door and flooded the bathroom. The breakfast in another location was terribly inconvenient and the choice very limited and totally wrong for a gluten intolerant person. There was no information about the check out either (the time on the Booking page said 00:00-00:00), but the maid entered the room at 10 without even knocking. It probably was a very good hotel when someone was managing it, now it’s a total no-go and not worth the price at all!
