United KingdomExcellent hotel in prime position, close to train station and other facilities. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, they make you feel very welcome. The rooms are large and well appointed with daily cleaning. Buffet breakfasts provide a good start to the day with a variety of food on offer. Evening meals also provide a wide choice on the menu with well prepared and very tasty courses, most welcome after a good days hiking in the surrounding mountains!

Switzerland1. Unfortunately even though the room is accessible, the room was not built with a good ventilation system. We had to keep opening the window for better air. We couldn’t sleep well. 2. Upon checking in.. ask for the tourist card/discount for gondolas ticket, cause with us they forgot to mention it and we had to apparently check the room for any displayed paper about it and it was hidden behind the tea counter. 3. The kettle needs an adapter that was not in the room and the reception is closed in the evening so we did not get to use it until the last day. So don’t forget to request for that too. 4. When using the sauna, there is no water only an empty pitcher which we ourselves have to fill it with water from the sink where the toilet is. The doing it ourselves is no problem, but taking it from the toilet area was not really pleasant. 5. Breakfast could be warmer.
The property is accessible to everything. It’s in the middle of Engelberg. Walking distance to the Gondola to Titisee / Trüebsee. The room was clean.

United StatesThe room was a little warm (it was an unusually hot day in Engelberg) and there was no fan or way to open the window more than a crack to cool it down. The street below was also a little noisy with crowds of tourists staying across the street, but that is not the fault of the Crystal.
I was a little concerned when I realized how close the hotel was to the train station, but I needn’t have worried - the whole town is clustered right around the station, trains are infrequent, and they slow down as they approach the terminus, so there was no train noise at all. The restaurant was lovely and convenient, and the breakfast was simple but delightful - I especially appreciated the array of local cheeses, which were delicious.

United StatesThere's no lobby to speak of, so it's not a particularly good place to meet up with people or escape from your room to work or eat a snack. The room we were in was relatively old and quite small; I don't think any of the rooms shown on booking.com look like the one we had.
The breakfast is superb, with a comprehensive array of breakfast items that goes above and beyond the usual. For example, there's a wide variety of breads and rolls, as well as wide assortment of grains and cereals. Plus scrambled eggs and bacon for those who are really hungry. And best of all, a fully-automatic espresso/coffee machine! There's also drip coffee. The staff is awesome; very friendly and personable. The restaurant in the hotel is also quite good; we went there twice.
