We booked four rooms. Out of the four, one had aircon problems from the start. Another room had aircon problems on the second night. But thankfully, the hotel was gracious enough to offer our friends complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience they suffered.

I liked the lobby, the hip design and overall vibe of the hotel, the friendly staff, the thoughtful amenities. The location was excellent - it was very convenient to walk to the train station and the city's attractions.

King bed up against the wall, meaning someone had to crawl across the bed. Not ideal for going to the bathroom during the night.

Not very clean since a t-shirt fell on the floor and when I picked it up was dusty. Also close by there’s a club that on Friday’s and Saturday’s night does disco and from which you can hear the music. So It’s annoying, but likely they stop by midnight since there’s a law in Switzerland for public quiet time.

The position, the staff was really nice, gentle and helpful. Everything run smooth and the bed is so comfy!

Overall, my stay was very good. However, Switzerland as a whole is extremely overpriced, and this hotel was actually the most expensive one on my trip through five different countries. While the experience was enjoyable, I would say it did not represent the best value for money compared to other hotels I stayed in during the same trip.

This was my second time staying at a CitizenM hotel—my first visit was in France about 15 years ago—and the experience brought back a lot of memories. It seems that CitizenM hotels are designed with a very consistent style across locations. The location was excellent. It was only about a 15-minute walk to the main shopping strip, with convenience stores located just around the corner. Very central and easy to get around. One thing I initially found strange was the lack of bottled water. At first, it felt unusual, but then I learned that Switzerland prides itself on having some of the best tap water in the world and actively discourages the use of plastics. Instead, guests are provided with canisters to fill directly from the tap. It turned out to be a unique and interesting experience. I also appreciated the intentional touches, like the rentable umbrellas. This small detail was incredibly useful when unexpected rain showers came through—it showed the hotel had thought ahead about guest needs.

Complimentary filter coffee would have been a nice touch, since there were no facilities in the room. I don’t usually take breakfast but I need my coffee! First day I was allowed to help myself (thank you). The next day I was charged.

The bed was only accessible from only one side and no bedside table on window side. Nowhere to sit in the room except a small bench. Hairdryer’s lead didn’t reach to be in front of a mirror and hairdryer was collapsible and wouldn’t stay rigid. No tea/coffee in room. Wardrobe very small and it had only one large drawer under bed so no room to unpack clothes.

Location was good. Overall the staff were very good. Room and communal areas very clean. Water available all the time in the bar. Black out blinds were very efficient.

Toilets in the room separated by matte glass - very unusual design for a toilet. Windows are not opening due to vent system.

The bed position may be a concern for some as the bed is pushed against the wall meaning you may have to climb over your partner. The bathroom privacy may be a concern for some.

The iPad in one of our rooms did not work so we had to rely on the app in the phone for the controls in the room.

The hotel is located near the train station and to most of the iconic places in Zurich. The breakfast had many choices for our pickiest eater. The staff is really friendly and helpful.
