How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It could have been a little cooler, but there was a heat wave, and they brought two portable units in, which made the sleeping area nice and cool.

Verified reviewBeautiful boutique hotel. Small number of rooms and each room seemed different. We had two deluxe sweet rooms which both had a large full bathroom and half bath plus large bedrooms and separate living space. The staff was so accommodating and helpful and would go out of their way. Locations was excellent to walk to the lake or FiFA museum. Breakfast was wonderful and included in our booking. Would absolutely stay here again.
They do allow dogs and we had a couple of barking dogs, but that wasn’t for too long.

Verified reviewWe haven't ever stayed in such a large luxurious room! 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a dining area, and large hallway when you walk in the room. The staff was so genuine and friendly with a Swiss chocolate treat daily! Ivan, Amber, Felix, Angela, Shelly, & Michael were the sweetest staff I've ever experienced in 30 years of travel! Zurich and Wengen Switzerland are just another level of beauty! We won't look at other hotels if we go back. Our room must have been 1,000 sf like an apartment with full hotel service! Old world beauty with modern conveniences! This hotel was centrally located with a very short walk to the train station. Bring a rain slicker itrains daily but not for long. Super green and lush in Switzerland and the mountains are amazing! Very important the bed was so comfortable we slept like angels!
Honestly can't think of a thing except for their coffee wasn't as good as our grind and brew we make at home.

The second stay was a last-minute decision, simply because our first experience here was so great that we knew we wanted to come back. Special thanks to Huth, Michal, Felix and Xiatlali. They were all incredibly warm, caring, friendly, and attentive, making us feel truly welcomed. The rooms are very comfortable and well-designed, especially the suite and the top-floor room with a balcony — both offered a relaxing and cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The hotel itself is not large, which adds to its charm and gives us a home feeling.

The room was so run down and scruffy with scratches and gouges in the walls. The bathroom paint was peeling and all the corners of the furniture was peeling. The suite was a bizarre laid out apartment, rather than a suite. For 700 CHF it was daylight robbery for that quality and it makes me actually not trust booking. com in the future. The rooms and facilities are not that of a 5 star hotel.

Verified reviewI like the spacious suite and that it has two toilets. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The staff were very nice and welcoming. The location is near the lake so I enjoyed the walk around the city and explored Zürich differently this time.
The building is old but very clean however some pieces of furnitures need to be replaced. The A/C didn’t work well in my suite and they offered me a fan.

The location is great—just a short walk to a nearby park and supermarket, and it’s also conveniently close to a fuel station, which is helpful if you’re renting a car. The hotel offers private parking, though there is an additional charge for it. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A special highlight was that they kindly upgraded one of our suites, which was a lovely gesture and really made us happy. Overall, a pleasant experience!
