Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe deep stair ladder to loaf, wifi was pretty much never working and the shower knob was broken, had to be careful with it and cabin door would not work for us to lock it when we went out.
Beautiful spot, friendly ranger staff, felt safe.

CanadaWas expecting a better pathway to the beach. If we could suggest to clean and properly add landscape in the area to add private pathway for both cabins it would add much value to the facility. Also, it would be nice if satellite tv was connected :-)
the cabin is great, clean and quite place.

CanadaUnfortunately no pillows or blankets were provided so our sleep was affected. We didn't stay for the second night. It was mentioned in the communication we have to bring our own bedding which we misinterpreted as only bedsheets/linens. Covid is a thing of past so such level of precautions sound irrelevant at this time.
Great location, calm and peaceful.

CanadaDisinfectant and cleaning supplies not provided as described. Coaxial cable on TV broken. Dead battery in DVD remote. Upstairs fan broken. We brought personal towels expecting to find kitchen towels. If not provided that should also be noted on the rental agreement.

United KingdomWhen travelling from another country, with limited baggage allowance, it would have been nice to have bedding and towels. There weren't even any pillows! So we ended up using the cushions from the sofa. Thank goodness my cousin helped us out. The excuse that they've been removed because of Covid is very lame! The master bedroom is in the roof of the lodge, which sounds wonderful, however, to get up to it is by a steep ladder. This would be exciting, but at the top, you have to duck passed the steep sides of the roof. Plus, when you're of a certain age, there is a need to make frequent trips to the bathroom during the night. Negotiating the ladder would have been quite dangerous.
The location was stunning. The view from the lodge was across Porteau Cove. However, there were approximately 20 - 30 seals lying on a platform, which was wonderful to see, but goodness me, they were noisy - all day and night! The lodge was solidly built and quirky. A bbq was provided, plus a gas burner for sitting next to on chilly evenings. Sadly, it rained constantly so we weren't able to enjoy it.

CanadaKitchen equipment/ utensils can be more cleaned. No extra garbage bags.
My family was there when first built in 2010, cabins are still in good condition. Only difference is no more bedding after Covid. Easy check in/out. Very private property and nice view. Close to Whistler.

CanadaSeals were very noisy. Bring a speaker to drown the noise for sleep.
Booking told me there would be towels, there was not. The main bedroom had significant difficulties. I am 6"2 and the ladder to the loft required me to be on my hands and knees with little room to navigate. This was actually painful and I would have brought a padding to help.

CanadaThe Sea Lions barked all day and all night. We did not sleep and didn't stay the second night that we paid for, but there were no refunds on the stay. I wish I could have a refund for the second night at least. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I was on medical leave from work to rest and thought to be by the seaside would be the best thing to do. The barking of the Sea Lions was depressing and we didn't enjoy anything because of it. I didn't feel safe going up or down the ladder to the loft. There was food in the sink drain plug and debris on the ladder from dirty shoes when we arrived.
I liked the location. I didn't meet any staff, but it was fine not to. I like the cabin.

United StatesBe warned that the loft is accessible only by an extremely steep ladder. Anytime someone moves upstairs it SQUEAKS. A lot. Bedroom mattress decent but loft bed extremely uncomfortable. TV available but no cable or satellite - only DVDs in the room were a limited selection of cartoons. Back burner on stove didn’t work. Pots available but no pan. Window does not open in the bathroom and there is no vent so tends to have a mildew smell. Don’t forget to bring an extra towel for the floor as there is no bath mat and the shower is small and curtain does a poor job of keeping the water inside the stall. Front door uneven in the frame so you have to push/pull hard to unstick it from the frame when opening and closing it. Numbers are worn off of the lock code so it is briefly confusing about how to open the door and the park staff is gone by 5PM. There are adjacent picnic areas that are pretty popular so could get noisy at times but didn’t have any issues with it after about 9PM. No linens (though they do warn you).
Lovely view of the water from the porch. Nice picnic table and Adirondack chairs on the porch. Small propane fire pit available in front of the porch was great for the cool evening. Easy parking right in front of the cabin. Short walk down to a long dock from a retired ferry service in one direction and through the camp side there is a trail that leads uphill to a lookout peak. Pretty quiet in the early morning. Short drive to Squamish to pick up any necessities. Beautiful view from the loft space. Fan available in loft space. Full length mirror in bedroom. Gated area around the cabin keeps folks from using it as beach access. WI-FI access with decent streaming speed.
