Dear guest, It is clearly advised on the booking site that a public in-door heated swimming pool is at the Killarney Aquatic and Recreation Centre within a walkable distance. Please read the description carefully. We do not understand why the unfair comment on the swimming pool in this review! In addition, the guest space is not just a room. It is a spacious suite, with three rooms - a bedroom, a living room and a private bathroom. Our guests are recommended to close windows in the winter to keep the suite warm. Extra blanket and pillows are also provided. We have received many guest compliments on the coziness and comfort of the suite. On a side note, the guest who wrote this review booked for her two friends, not herself. The booker gave us lots of compliments upon checking in when she came to see the suite with all the facilities offered. She even said: My friends are lucky to stay here. The stay went very well except for one problem caused by guests. During the stay, the guests accidentally put something that clogged the toilet, and we had to call a professional plumber to fix it, which cost $60 and was paid voluntarily by the guests directly to the plumber. This may be why the guest became bias in this review; it does not fairly reflect our property and service. Our bed is comfortable with a luxury Stearns and Fosters mattress, which has received lots of compliments from our guests. Please be fair in the review to help us improve, not to rate us down. Dear guest, We understand it is nearly impossible to satisfy all guests. However, we would like to take this opportunity to clarify the incident with this guest. This guest booked two separate bookings (April 17 and April 18), each for only one guest. In fact, two guests came for each booking. The booking for April 17 was for a friend who came with another friend (two people). The booker did not even check in on April 17. We were flexible to accept her friend and an extra guest at check-in on April 17. These first two guests checked out on April 18. Then, suddenly around 11:30 am on April 18, the booker filed a false complaint to Booking, stating that our bed was a double, not Queen-sized and that they were not pre-informed that check-in time was from 4 pm till by midnight. (In fact, our bed is a queen-sized with the luxury mattress Stearns & Fosters. In fact, we advised clearly on the site that check-in time is from 4 pm till midnight. Of course, we can accommodate late check-in requests sent in advance). With this false complaint, the booker asked to cancel the booking for April 18 (only a few hours before check-in) and asked for a full refund. We did not accept this false complaint (as it was false and the booker did not even check in on April 17 (her friends did) and she chose to book with free cancellation within 3 days before check-in). After clarifying things with Booking, I called the booker directly but she did not pick up the phone. I left a message, saying that if she wanted to clarify or even to get a refund, she could contact us directly, but please do not file false complaints to Booking. She replied in a text message: "My friends must have gotten things wrong but just to clarify we will check in before midnight today. Apologies for causing an issue with the booking site. I'll contact them again and let them know my concerns were handled. I was just worried about the cancelation policy". A few hours later on April 18 after I received the booker's text message, two friends of the booker who stayed the night before came again. We were flexible to allow them in. Then one friend went and the booker checked in with the one friend who stayed with her on the night of April 18. We also tried our best to accommodate their request for late entry past midnight. The booker promised she would contact Booking to let them know her complaints were just a misunderstanding. We thought everything was fine until we read this unfair review. We feel we were rated down despite our effort to make guests happy with many extras, including accommodating their last-minute check-in request and their false complaints, causing us a lot of troubles having to deal with Customer Service requests to resolve customer issues. We are sad that these guests did not appreciate our hospitality, to be fair, but we understand people are just different. Although we are disappointed with this hosting experience, our home always welcome guests from all over world. Thanks so much for the generous support from our guests who helped us win the 2025 Booking Travel Review Award. We will always strive our best to make sure our guests have a pleasant stay. Dear guest, This review only reflects a subjective perception of the guest. You know this is our home (we live here) and we welcome guests from all parts of the world. You knew this when you made the booking because our home was listed as a home stay, and we provided a lot of information about our home and house rules in the host profile. During your stay, you were out most of the time and only came back after 11 pm our bedtime, but you said that you can hear everything at all hours! We do not understand why you said so! We go to work all days, and we respect our guests. The street light is only on at night and the curtains do their job properly. Make sure you close the curtains. The bedroom door now has a lock. We have never received any complaints about the things you mentioned in your comment. So, we do not know what to improve on, based on your review. We know it is very hard to satisfy all the guests, as each guest has a different perception about the same things. We continue to improve our services and welcome guests from all over the world.
