How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewConvenient location, easy to find, easy to get in and out of property. Accommodated us when I needed to add an extra child. Quiet location. Very well lit, fit my family of 6 nicely. Host was responsive when I sent a message.
Was very warm, asked for the ac to be turned on but it made no difference. No cleaning products, not all that was advertised as being at the property as there. Limited towels for the kitchen, only two clothes and no tea towels. Parking was hard to find on the street, no private parking. Couch was very stained, few stains on the carpet.

Verified reviewThe furniture was in great condition and all the utilities looked brand new.
Street parking can be a little tricky. But that’s at no fault to host.
Thanks for the review, best wishes and take care.

Verified reviewGood location
While staying at the atare suite it did not feel welcoming. There is nothing in the kitchen but cutlery, no sharps to cut with, cheap utensils, some melted, and these were dirty, we had to wash before using. The pots and pans were nice but nothing to cook with in the oven, no baking sheet/pan. There were lots of cups and 4 large plates, 4 small plates and 3 bowls. No mixing bowls of any kind were supplied so cooking was very difficult. And one very very tiny cutting board, barely big enough for an orange. There was no spices, not even salt, pepper, sugar or the basics. Now with coming out of province we brought some food but at the other air bnbs I’ve stayed at there was a pantry of cooking spices and supplies. Not a lot but enough to get you through your stay. There was no hand towel, no dish cloth. Only one roll of paper towel, and a tiny mini sponge to clean with. Only one a bathrooms had hand soap as well and only 3 face cloths and 3 bath towels were supplied, no hand towels. The first evening after arriving it was very very warm and we were uncomfortable for how hot it was. We had to email the air bnb person to turn the ac on and set it colder a few times. It was upsetting how we could not control the temperature ourselves as we are people who prefer the cold. With the whole place carpet, it made it warm. Eventually we went out to buy a fan to help cool off the room. Upon booking this stay, it said pet friendly, now we have stayed at 2 previous pet friendly air bnbs but neither one or this one when booking had an area to check off “I’m bringing a pet”. While driving from out of province we received the check in combo codes and the list of rules, one was no pets allowed. I emailed back and was return with ‘your animal is allowed as long as they do not damage anything’, nothing about a deposit was stated.
Hello Skye, Thanks again for choosing to stay with us and giving us your feedback as well. Yes, our apartment is pet friendly, but it is deceptive to book for 2 adults and show up with a 130-pound dog, perhaps to avoid pet fees (which was waved off as a kind gesture). A pet damage deposit was demanded as a standard protocol that you reluctantly agreed and was refunded in full upon inspection/checkout. Perhaps the reason why you are unhappy. The noise complaints from the guest below were certainly from the dog in your apartment, even though you denied it. We provide courtesy tea, coffee, sugar, and milk to our guests and are not mandated to provide any special spicies or cooking ingredients like you suggested. There is a dollarama store and several convenient stores 2 minutes drive (10 minutes walk) away from the apartment where you could have purchased the nessasary spices you desired. In addition, all appliances (microwave, electric burner, oven, coffee machine, jug, toaster, blender) cooking utensiles, plates, pots, and cutlery available are listed as provided and have been more than adequate for guests. Unfortunately, we do not provide specific special cooking materials. Our smart temperature control is available on request, and we were quick to address the warm temperature as soon as you required it. Your booking was for 2adults/2nights and we provided 4 big towels and 4 face/hand towels. On checking out, I asked you how your stay was, and you said great. It is recorded on the front door camera. Your negative review is but an expression of your displeasure in addressing the fact that you brought your dog without proper notice, you were reluctant to pay damage deposit even after I waved off the pet fees, and the noise caution complaints from the guests below caused by your dog. While I would like to commend you for keeping the apartment tidy without any pet damage, I must say with uttermost certainty that this is not reflective of our hospitality and your review is based on personal bias dissatisfaction resulting from the undisclosure of you pet. Regards.

Verified reviewIt is a very nice comfortable suite. Lots of room for one or two people. Maybe a little tight if you have a couple of kids though, if you spend much time inside. Bit of a mix up in my booking so had to call the host. He was there in minutes. Very nice person and incredibly helpful. There was plenty of coffee and tea available. I felt very safe there. You need one code to get in the main door and a different one to get into the suite. Very reasonable priced for a self contained suite!!!
The only drawback is the house is a little far away from the center of Saskatoon if you are in the city for entertainment.

Verified reviewThe rental suite was beautiful and so clean and everything we needed was there. I met the gentleman who owns the property and he was more than willing to accommodate us in anyway possible. I would highly recommend this place. So quaint and so quiet, we absolutely enjoyed our stay and I'm so looking forward to renting this property
Thank you Rick, the feeling is mutual. You were such an amazing guest, and I look forward to your next visit. Best wishes.
