Bed didn’t feel clean. Marks on bedding. There was a kettle but no cups. No information when we checked in.

The location was fantastic and the view of the lake from our room was amazing.

The room was a bit run down (peeling paint, nails in the wall with nothing hanging, the sliding door let water in underneath it while closed when it rained, the bedside light flickered constantly when on). Not a lot of extra touches (just a kettle and mini fridge in the room, basic shampoo/soap/lotion). Cost a decent amount of money for what it is, could use a little refresh.

The lake is very pretty. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

Overall the location needs a lot (and I mean a lot) of TLC. Everything is tired, the paint flaking off, wood rotting in places, the BBQs filthy and unusable if you so chose.

I have been going to this place for years now and everytime I just give it another chance they will improve but it is not happening anymore so this was my final stay here. The place has no backup generator incase the electricity is not there. You can’t use toilet as those doesn’t work either when the electricity is gone. Firewood which use to be free is now $15 for a small bag.

Property needed snow plowing, no coffee maker. Was not a suite as advertised. Roku TV hard to figure out.

I wish I was notified that I was the only guest so the restaurant was very limited. Also they only took cash.

The breakfasts were excellent fuelling my day long adventures. Twice I had my supper brought to my room.

The hotel itself was beautiful, with amazing amenities, and my overall experience was positive. However, I was disappointed when I requested extra towels for my room with a jacuzzi and was denied, being told there was a strict "two towels per room" policy. For a hotel at this price point, I would expect more flexibility, especially considering the extra amenities in the room. Additionally, while the staff were professional, there’s room for improvement in customer service. Resolving small but important guest needs like this would go a long way in elevating the experience. Otherwise, everything else about the stay was fantastic.

The cottage was not clean. The wifi didn't work in our cottage (but it did work elsewhere in the inn). You weren't supposed to put toilet paper in the toilet, just "natural waste" but the waste basket was never emptied during our 3 nights there. There were almost no pots, just one wok and an extraordinarily dirty pot and a dirty frying pan with no handle. The staff were extremely unhelpful. There was one knife for cutting things, but it was serrated and dull. There was no can opener, so we asked for one and was told to wait ½ an hour, so after a couple of hours we asked again and had to go to the office to pick it up. There was no broom and dustpan. Garbage was strewn about by a raccoon the first morning and was not cleaned up until late in the day and some of the garbage was never cleaned up at all.

The cottage was spacious and bright, with a wall of windows overlooking the lake right outside. Lots of parking space. The cottage was warm even though the weather wasn't.

Hot water ran out when we wanted to use the tub. Some of the walls were not clean. I understand the colouring of the water but would prefer clear tub water. Some things could be updated/painted.

Drywall patching inside closet was not done properly and cement around overflow drain in bathtub was done very inaccurately (at least to be sanded) and it spoiled the whole impression of this nice room room.

We stayed at Labor Day at two beds cottage. The room was spacious for 3 of us. Beds were comfortable and linens white. Kitchen was equipped with caps, plates and pans. The room had oven, microwave and full-size refrigerator. Room and linens were very clean. We could swim in the lake, but it is not recommended for small kids, It gets deep immediately close to the shore.

I specifically booked the room for the jacuzzi. The jets didn’t work at all. So that was disappointing considering how much we spent on the room.

We got nervous because we saw the 2 star reviews online, but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to see how clean it was. Loved the room, the walk out patio to the beach. Friendly staff :)

The only draw back was the wifi was non-existent, not the end of the world but I would have liked to have some music. Room slightly dated, but manageable.

Fantastic location, whether you want to lounge by the lake, go kayaking, take a short drive to Algonquin park or the opposite way to Huntsville, everything is a stones throw away. Great location, tranquil atmosphere. Very nice.

The wi-fi not the greatest and the outside of the resort needs repairs to the stairs and decks. Breakfast only served between 8-9 a m. 😴

It's close to the park on a nice lake and canoe rentals just across the highway at Algonquin Outfitters.
