Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI liked everything.
was so lucky to find X'Tan Ha Resort. Even before I arrived, the staff was very attentive, answering questions to help me better prepare for my trip. Once I was there, everyone was extremely friendly (from front desk to restaurant & bar staff), offering additional information about snorkeling spots to help me decide on which tours to take, then setting up those tours for me. There's a dock at the hotel where Tuff E' Nuff Tours will pick you up, which is very convenient. The on-site restaurant (indoors & outdoors seating on the water) was good and offered a variety of options. You can rent a golf cart to go to nearby restaurants and a little market about 15 minutes from the hotel (give or take). We stayed in the ocean front room where the views were amazing. I loved hanging out in my hammock. It's such a quiet and peaceful location. The room was spacious and very clean, with a kitchenette. Pick up some groceries on your way in, book snorkeling tours from the dock, eat at the bar/restaurant on the water, get a massage from Rose on the beach (she was so good!), and rent a golf cart for quick excursions. It's the whole package!

United StatesHonestly the stay was great overall and we would stay here again. The only thing was that the bed was huge but really really soft and we slid to the middle every night. The other thing was the restaurant and bar are separate from the resort. The dinner menu was limited and seemed expensive for the quality of food. But they have a great lunch menu. Try the conch fritters!
This is a great property! We had an oceanfront view and our balcony faced the beach. Our room had most everything we needed to cook our own meals. The room was clean and tidy. We needed a few things for the kitchen and the staff was quick to acquire them for us. We booked our golf cart through the resort. It was more expensive than getting it in town but they filled the tanks daily with fuel and we didn't have to pick up or return in town so worth the convenience. A little advice for the first time visitors.... take the taxi service to the hotel. The road is bumpy and a long 7.2 miles from san pedro in a golf cart. Our driver allowed us to stop and grab groceries which was a great time saver. The nearest grocery store is about 25 minutes away in a golf cart. You can book excursions directly through the property or through the many tour companies. We booked 2 through Scuba Daze which was only 20 minutes from the resort. They were super personable, reasonable, and closer than going all way to san pedro.

CanadaWe were hoping for more of a beach front instead of all the seaweed but it was still very pretty
We liked the quietness of the resort and the staff were amazing!!! The staff helped us with renting a golf cart and booking our flights to the island. The pools were quiet. Our room was facing the sea and it was beautiful to sit out on our balcony. The food in the restaurant was delicious!!! To be able to see stingrays and fish right on the beach was also pretty cool. We had a golf cart which is important as we got to see more places and beaches.

United StatesOur bed was too firm for me. My husband didn't mind, but I found it uncomfortable. I ended up spend the whole week on the futon pull out. It was softer and more comfortable for me. I was sad to miss out on sleeping with my spouse in the king size bed, but relieved there was a way for me to get some sleep. Only other downside is that the road getting to the hotel is very rough so it makes getting into town a long ordeal. Not a deal breaker, but good to know.
Beautiful property, nice staff, good food at the restaurant, relaxing atmosphere, large rooms, great view.

United StatesNo screens in the windows so you can’t leave the windows open. The road into town is pretty rough so it takes a while to get to town.
Absolutely everything! Big units with a nice porch with a hammock! The views are spectacular and there is a dock next to the property with a bar and restaurant. Great place for a cocktail or breakfast.

United StatesThe only complaint I have is subjective so it may not affect everyone. The bed was a little too soft for my old back. My preference is nice and firm.
The customer service was outstanding! From check-in to check-out, the staff was always available and very helpful with arranging our transportation via golf cart and with arrival and departure. The property is well kept and not too busy or noisy.

Abkhazia, GeorgiaThey “upgraded” us from the casitas to an Ocean view condo. Would have preferred a casita with full kitchen even if it’s a little further from the water. The whole island is experiencing power loss. Start asking if your resort has generators! Restaurant has no vegan options.
Responsive and communicative staff. Very helpful. Loved feeding iguanas.

FranceThe room was quite dark and the view in the back was to the maintenance area. Not the nicest view, but as we spent most of the time outside, it didn't bother us much. Prices at the restaurant are high, but that is the case everywhere in Ambergris Caye and in the few restaurants close by.
We stayed three nights here during April and had a great time. The hotel is around 20-30 minutes drive from San Pedro and therefore really quiet. The hotel sits between two undeveloped pieces of land, which helps keeping it that way. Due to the reef being around 1km in front of the hotel beach, the water here is very quiet and calm but you can still hear the waves while sitting under the palm trees (with the coconuts removed, no issues to sit under them), super nice and relaxing! We had one of the pool facing casitas and they were comfortable enough. The kitchen was very well equipped, with a huge fridge and all necessary appliances to cook. Useful, since we didn't book the breakfast option due to the price. But since grocery shopping is very expensive on the island (50 USD for a bit of bacon, 4 cups of iced coffee, 1 pack of spread and a pack of 4 muffins), it might be worth adding the breakfast. The hotel has 2 large pools and the beach with nice loungers available at all times. All areas were well maintained and inviting.

United StatesThe location is about 40 min by golf cart from the ferry in SanPedro downtown. The property itself is very nice and quiet, small but private beach. bar on the waterfront. Rooms were good, kitchen had everything you need. No issues with AC or drinking water (available in the room). We were able to take the snorkeling excursion from this location itself, did not have to go to downtown. Nice calm water, not too deep, perfect for small kids as well. Saw fish and crabs in the shallow water rt off the beach. 2 swimming pools. There is a restaurant on site, menu is very limited but good food, fresh juice etc. The service is very slow so be prepared to wait atleast 45 min if you dont go rt when it opens. They have limited staff. There are other resort restaurants about 15-20 min drive by golfcart. Room service is good. Everyone was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this would be the place.
