The staff could have been friendlier a smile goes a long way. We felt unwelcome at times.

Location was good. Having kayaks available if we wanted them was fab and the rooms had everything we needed. The pool was great although a little dusty but I don’t think that could be helped.

My first room was outdated and in an older building yet for that same price I could get a more updated room.

I liked that it was beachfront and had very good beach access and chairs to comfortably enjoy even in the pier.

The day we checked out and had HOURS (4hrs) to kill, we were told we could not use the pool or anything! And that morning they’d put chemicals in the pool and said no swimming until 10am and checkout was 11am 😒 They have chairs out front at the the beach, but ZERO shade This hotel is also on the open ocean side, where the sargassum (a type of kelp) is a huge problem and makes the beach and ocean pretty yuck

Nice central location, comfy beds, and Reina was very friendly They have kayaks and some other equipment to use, but we weren’t there long enough to do so We were also allowed to keep luggage in the office since we arrived before our room was ready/ our ferry back was hours past checkout

I have a bad back and am quite sensitive to mattress quality, and they were tolerable but not great.

Great location in the center of town and near the ferry terminal, ocean view was pretty good, room was large enough to be comfortable, pretty well-equipped, room was clean, nice rooftop observation area, beach was just across the street, pool wasn't bad, having two chairs and a table on the outside deck was a nice touch, nightly fire pit.

The absence of a mini fridge in the room. It wasn't a big problem for us as we only stayed for two nights, but for longer stays, I think it is something that the room needs. The room and toilet facilities were a bit dated, and need renovation however this is a hotel in a small island with not many modern amenities in the island in general, so it is understandable. The price of the rooms was expensive, and bare in mind that we booked the cheapest rooms. There were rooms in the establishment that looked renovated, but they were even more expensive. This was the case in many other hotels in the island, so we believe that in general Caye Caulker offers expensive accommodation, for establishments that are a bit old. At least La isa resort offers a very good outside space as mentioned previously.

Location, comfortable beds, outside space of the hotel with a fire being lit every night, comfortable chairs and two hammocks around it! Hotel also kindly provided beach towels for the pool or the beach, filter coffee/tea and water at the reception. Coffee in particular was of very good quality!

The one thing we did not like was a light next to our particular room, a motion light apparently, which blinked on and off all night. We had to keep the curtains closed not to see it. This should be fixed!

La Islsa is located on Caye Caulker's main street and within walking distance of everything: restaurants, bars, The Split, and water taxi. La Isla has its own swimming pool and swimming beach and dock, which we loved. Our room was big and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. We had a small balcony where we drank our tea in the morning cool. It had a refrigerator and microwave which came in handy.

The location is great, very near the port and many restaurants. The room was large and bright. We had a couple of issues; we found one of the ladies in reception quite aggressive and so kept away as much as possible. As we were traveling for 4 weeks we had quite large suitcases and whilst I didn't mind hauling it up three flights, it would have been kind of them to mention the unusual numbering system so we didn't have to do it twice! I enquired about some plates and cutlery for our room, as there was a microwave but was told no so microwave was of no use. Could have been a great stay but staff rudeness really let it down.

The first two staff members were professional but not kind. They were not accommodating. The staff member who checked us out was wonderful. It is only because of her that I am leaving a nice review. The hotel was super clean. Next time if incoming customers need accommodations please remember they may book again in the future and tell their friends. The beds were really hard too.

While we were there, we had two days a more basic room in the older part of the resort, and then two days in a newer room. The second room was much bigger and slightly better equipped, but it was actually much nicer in the smaller room, since it had a lovely veranda where we could sit, and a great view to the sea. The second room had no view at all, and the WiFi was intermittent.

Beautiful resort at the seaside, with its own jetty and beach area. Lovely palm trees and shrubs all around, a nice clean pool, hammocks in the shade, an evening campfire in the courtyard, complementary tea (lots of choice!), coffee and free water refill in the reception Lovely helpful staff.

It was noisy - but party time didn’t go into the early hours. The restaurant was closed. The hotel rules were a bit draconian. We were told ‘no visitors on site’ and there were other ‘rules of engagement’ regarding the use of pool etc which set a strange unwelcome tone. The staff seemed to gather in public areas as if it was THEIR hotel and we were intruding on their space. Not so friendly. Hotel seemed tired of having guests. The room had a fridge and a microwave but nothing else - not even a cup or a glass or a spoon! Seemed no point having facilities if guests have to go out and buy everything from teaspoon up. Fridge useful for chilling bottles of water. The final flourish of unfriendliness happened on our final day when a small hotel face towel was waved at me across reception and $USD 20 was demanded in cash on the spot - I had spilled some tea on it and this counted as damage to property. Visitors should beware of this. I’d have rinsed it myself if I’d known.

Excellent location in the centre of activity with shops bars cafes and beaches on the doorstep. Roof top terrace was great for breeze and views. Aircon was great. Drinking Water available in the reception.

Bathroom wasn't that clean. Not too bad, but definitely not clean enough. Balcony was im a weird location.

We got a huge room which was very nice. Rooms are a bit dated, but absolutely fine. Location of the hotel is fantastic and it has a nice outside area at the ocean too. Seems to be one of the few places with a more or less fair price.

There is a lot of dust but that is the same everywhere on the island. The staff worked continuously to keep the place as clean as possible.

The central location to so many restaurants was great. It was a short walk to the water taxi too. The small pool was welcoming and a great place to relax. We loved having coffee available all morning and bottled water to refill our water bottles. The evening fire was a fun idea. We will be back.

It’s a little loud as we were on the ground floor. I booked a double room and somehow ended up with two beds.

We loved the pool area. We were expecting it to be busy, but it was always empty. The hotel is in a very convenient location. It was clean. There’s a private beach which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I would have liked access to more pillows, maybe a rug at the front door for sandy shoes. The TV never connected to the wifi, it kept saying the password was wrong. We didn’t bring it up to the front desk because it wasn’t THAT important to us.

The location was great, a short walk from the dock and felt pretty good distance from almost anything.
