Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesRestaurant was delicious, just slightly more expensive than I expected.
Location was excellent, very near the water taxi docks. Grounds were really nice, but we didn’t have much time to enjoy them!

United StatesThe water pressure in my room was low. This is not the first time I experience low water pressure here. They do not have a 24-hour front desk person, so you have to make special arrangement for late check-in.
This is my favorite spot in Belize City. The location is excellent and the grounds of the hotel are a delight, with lush and well-maintained gardens and landscaping. The staff is welcoming and friendly. I love BOTH pools. I've stayed in several kinds of rooms and my favorite are the cottages.

I would say it was centrally located and a 30 min ride from the airport, nice facility but for its price point it didnt have a fridge unlike many of the locations i stayed in Belize. It was not bad, service was nice it served its purpose and may utilize it again when in Belize.

Simply furnished, nothing fancy, but quite clean and comfortable. Fair price. AC was excellent. A healthy menu and delicious food at Martha's Cafe right on the water. Always relaxing!

United KingdomWe had a very comfortable one night stay on the final leg of our trip. We were upgraded to a cottage which was really quiet and spacious. The staff were all wonderful and I'd recommend booking in for a massage as that was fantastic and really reasonably priced. The food at the restaurant was delicious (quite expensive in comparison to other places) but I'd really recommend the fish tostadas!

United StatesBreakfast is available for a charge at the property from 8 am. There is a coffee shop (portacabin) about 300 yards along the promenade. The facility is very secure with a security guard and code locked gate. The room locks are also electronic. Room was clean and comfortable in a nice garden setting. This hotel is walking distance from the main ferry terminal with boats departing to Caye Caulker and San Pedro. Fort George hotel next door has a very nice restaurant and bar but expect US$$$ prices. At night across the street there is a mobile cocktail bar and also an ice cream shop

United StatesThe surrounding area during the day felt safe but only right around this property. We did walk from the ferry terminal to the property just fine with our two boys (ages 6 and 8). Belize City in general did not feel comfortable to walk around and exploring especially after dark (dinner time).
Very beautiful, gardens, wildlife, pools were nice, property felt safe. Staff was friendly, and helpful.

United StatesThe room was a little small for the price that I paid. I was expecting to be in an individual cottage but it was literally a room with a bathroom and closet. Issues with the TV when I arrived.
The property is in the heart of Belize city right next to the cruise port, Belize sign, light house and the ocean. It’s within walking distance to the ferry boat/water taxi and the Belize history museum. Martha’s cafe is directly across the street. Gated property with secure access. Staff are helpful and respond quickly. 2 pools and a variety of wellness activities. Cooking class was advertised but I did not see it offered. Mobile bar that arrives at 4pm daily near the sign. Little food place right at the park that sells good and cheap food.
