How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewNo A/C
Hi Jeroen. There is A/C - just that we dont advertize it on Booking.com as something we have so nobody that stays with us should expect it. We could raise the prices and include it and then everybody would pay it weather they used it or not. We think its fair to leave it up to the customer to decide. There are a number of accommodations in Hopkins that do include A/C in the price, all of them more expensive than us even when you add the cost of the A/C. Safe travels and welcome back any time!

Verified reviewI wasn’t sure what to expect. The room was very small but fine for one person. It was kinda noisy with being on main street and construction going on next door. The price for AC seemed kinda high at $35. US for one day. But I was comfortable and the room worked very well for me. Small and a cute facility I would say.
Really I was happy with my stay there.
Hi. Thank you for your review. Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. As for the A/C, I think a few words to clarify the situation for anybody else that might read this would be appropriate. Firstly, we do NOT have listed here on Booking that we have A\C and therefore nobody that books with us should expect to have access to it. Nevertheless some of our rooms do have access to A\C and it should therefore be a pleasant surprise for anybody arriving wanting to increase their comfort :-) Because it’s an added amenity we therefore surcharge it. We offer two (2) different usage plans. One plan where you collaborate with us to keep electricity costs down by turning the AC off when you leave the room, we call this “Plan Collaboration” and the cost of this is 10 USD. It you would like to leave it on as you please regardless if you are in the room or not, we do charge 35 USD. We call this “Plan 24/7”. You opted for this. As also explained on our info sheet the cost of kWh in Belize is progressive with consumption. So as a facility, the more electricity that is consumed, the more the kWh is for the whole facility, therefore we need to allocate the charge to what increases cost. Also, it’s explained that if you happen to be in one of the rooms that have A/C and would like the extra amenity you should come to the reception to retrieve the remote. This would be a good moment to ask any questions you might have. We would also then be happy to explain further about Belize dependency on fossil fuels to cover consumption needs and how the last couple of years the country has been challenged to satisfy basic electricity needs for its population. Look forward to have you stay with us again. Welcome back anytime. All the best, Crash Pad Team

Building, the shared rooftop with kitchen, provided water and the hang hooks- perfectly for a chill! Our upgrade due to the room How effective can y build a tiny place- visit and find out! Very clean and safe place!
Our tap was completely blocked on one side, resulting in higher pressure. This led to a small flood and mess every time we washed our hands....

Verified reviewWe had an amazing time at Crash Pad! The room had a cool functional design and was super clean. There's a really nice rooftop kitchen with a good equipped outdoor kitchen, a fridge and hammocks. The location is perfect, many supermarkets and the beach in walking distance. I can highly recommend this place, even if you're not a biker 😊
Thank you for your stay and your review!

Verified reviewModern facilities, great communal terraces with sea and sunset views. Welcoming staff with good local knowledge. Quirky private rooms. Walking distance to the sea and good local restaurants.
Air conditioning would be an upgrade in the rooms but plenty of fans to help.

Verified reviewLots of fans! (Thank god!) liked the modern/industrial look of the room with the pipes, metal, wood… Rooftop is great place to hang out! There was a small 3rd story being worked on as well. You can walk to pretty much everywhere from it. Staff was helpful in giving info about the bus and things to do in town. I LOVED the cat!
I had found fine thing that said they had SUP for rent but they didn’t 😔 Wish there was a scooter option 🤷🏼♀️
Warms our hearts that you LOVED Ducatty the cat. We had SUP's long time ago, and we have removed it also long time ago from our webpage but somehow its hanging around on the internet and we can't seem to have it completely removed. Its a bummer! Sadly also, just for knowledge, you need a proper motorcycle license to drive a scooter in Belize :-(
