It took 18 minutes to get hot water for a shower (every night, we timed it) . The fake balcony was full of dead birds and bird poop. The glass was also covered with bird poop.

Comfortable bed, good WiFi and AC. Friendly staff and good breakfast. There is a mall a short block away.

Even when I told them I am leaving at 5:30 in the morning and they had written my name down they objected to me having breakfast which I had paid for. I ended up just having a coffee at the airport so that I don't spoil my day.

The breakfast was decent and the place was clean and comfortable . The reception attended to my request quickly which was very helpful.

A Luxurious Stay in the Heart of Gaborone - Protea Hotel by Marriott Masa Square Review
    • Business trip
    • Group
    • Guest room, 1 Queen, City view
    • Stayed 2 nights

Cons: Check-in time: I had to wait for a long time to be checked in despite having booked days early.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Gaborone Masa Square, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Located in the heart of Gaborone, the hotel offers easy access to the city's main attractions, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers. Accommodation: The rooms at Protea Hotel by Marriott Masa Square are modern, spacious, and tastefully decorated. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the luxurious amenities provided, including a comfortable bed, flat-screen TV, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The bathroom was also well-appointed, with a separate shower and bathtub. Dining: The hotel's restaurant serves a delicious breakfast buffet, with a wide range of options to suit all tastes. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the food and the friendly service from the staff. The hotel also has a bar and lounge area, which is perfect for relaxing with a drink or catching up on work. Amenities: The hotel offers a range of amenities, including a fitness center, outdoor pool, and conference facilities. The fitness center is well-equipped, and the outdoor pool is a great place to relax and soak up the sun. Service: The staff at Protea Hotel by Marriott Masa Square were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. From the front desk to the housekeeping team, everyone was professional and courteous, making my stay truly enjoyable. Location: The hotel is located in the Masa Square complex, which offers a range of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. The hotel is also within walking distance of the city center, making it easy to explore Gaborone's main attractions. Overall: Overall, I would highly recommend Protea Hotel by Marriott Gaborone Masa Square to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Gaborone.

    There's nothing to worry about.

The area is a good position and easy to locate. Walking to the mall is a bonus , I like it most. The staff also help to make the occasion special by arranging some goodies. I think the hospitality team needs some creative ideas to arrange goodies in the room and on the bed.

The bathroom shower glass partition allowed water to leak out on the basin and on the floor and the sheer curtains were too long and looked dirty. It was also too noisy outside.

I loved the fact that the conference room was in the hotel and it was very convenient and close to the places I wanted to visit. The room was also clean.

Breakfast was rich though for the week we were there it was the same meals everyday. Good thing you could mix differently on some days. Overall, enjoyed and looked forward to breakfast. The last night of my stay, I think the cleaner got some paper towels clogged in the basin while washing up. So, the drain was not letting water flow out properly. This was a bit annoying and should have been checked. But, to be honest, I didn't fuss too much about this as the whole room and restroom was properly/thoroughly cleaned daily.

Staff were amazing. Nametso and Babedi at the front desk and Stephans in the restaurant. The slim lady who made eggs at breakfast was pleasant too. Rooms were clean. Location was secure. There was a general warm culture in the hotel overall. I highly recommend.
