Great place within walking distance of central Kralendijk. Very friendly staff, good breakfast, great option of late checkout till your plane leaves. Fondue and schnitzel nights recommended. Spacious room with balcony and fridge.

CanadaThere was nothing at all that could put you off about the Sonrisa or Beat and Corrine, the hosts.
We were there for the windsurfing which was easy to do from the Sonrisa Hotel. We weren't focused on the fact that the Sonrisa offers everything you need to dive right at the hotel including great guiding during the dives. The set up right at the hotel made it a no-brainer to participate. What an enjoyable experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sonrisa. This is a cute little local Boutique hotel. Loved the room, loved the pool and outside seating areas. The staff and owners were friendly and helpful. Owner picked us up from airport and took us back to the airport (very convenient). We rented snorkel equipment from them and they know all the best places to snorkel and dive on the island as well as recommendations for other activities and restaurants. We also rented our car (SUV) from the owner which was super convenient. The box picnic lunch and breakfast were good too. Loved the trust bar (drinks available any time of day or night). We used the pool and patio areas a lot when we weren't snorkeling or doing other activities. We will definitely stay here on our return. A much more personal and authentic experience than the larger luxury resorts.

United StatesLots of choices when you come to Bonaire, but for the location, the hosts, the accommodations, the amenities, there is no greater value than Sonrisa Boutique Hotel. It’s a small place, strategically located close to everything… the beach, snorkeling, downtown, restaurants, and groceries. Most tours will pick you up at the hotel. The hosts were both charming and hospitable, taking the time to help plan our week, and even reaching to connect us with tour guides and taxi service. (I recommend the island tour with Toni, the national park tour with Adventure Maker Bonaire, and the Mangrove kayaking tour - all recommended by our hosts). Sonrisa features a very tasty breakfast to start each day. The rooms were always clean and spacious. For fans of diving or snorkeling, Sonrisa has it all available to rent and even have facilities to rinse and wash your gear. Our stay at Sonrisa was outstanding and I would recommend it to anyone coming to experience Bonaire.

United StatesCorinne and Beat were amazing hosts. They were so helpful with local recommendations and checking if we had everything we needed. The property and room were extremely clean. The hotel is in a great location a short walk to town, grocery stores, car rentals, and restaurants. The airport is close by and the hotel offers an easy transfer to and from the hotel. We loved our time in Bonaire and look forward to visiting again!

United StatesThere is nothing negative about Sonrisa.
The Sonrisa is a wonderful hotel. The owners are two of the nicest people who were so welcoming and helpful. From the moment we were picked up at the airport (we arranged that with them ahead of time) we knew we were in good hands. Our room was beautiful and nicely laid out with a very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and a patio with the pool just steps away. Once we were settled, Corinne gave us a map and full explanation of where to go for great snorkeling, restaurants and points of interest. Which was good to know instead of trying to figure it out ourselves. It was very convenient to rent one of their cars and we recommend it. And all of their recommendations were spot on and easy to get to with the car. They have a small restaurant on site too, also very convenient. They also have full diving and snorkeling rentals if you need, and a nice wash area for your equipment when you get back from a day of ocean adventures. We highly recommend you stay at the Sonrisa. If we get the chance to come back to beautiful Bonaire, this is the only place we would consider staying.

NetherlandsThe amenities may be a bit more practical and comfortable. We were with 2 persons and had only 1 chair in the room, 1 plate. I had to ask for a blanket. No closet for clothes. Clothes hanging on a rack under the airconditioning makes the room look not very neat and organized.
The surroundings are really beautiful. The landscape is amazing with beautiful palmtrees and other tropical plants. The pool looked just perfect. I liked the friendlyness of the owners, hardworking down to earth people. Very kind and helpful. I also liked the security of the doors and windows. I felt safe.

United StatesThe room had a slight smoke scent - most rooms are non-smoking, ours may not have been. Check when reserving your room. Parking is usually available on site, we had one night where we had to wait for a spot.
The room was quite large with a balcony, the bathroom was modern and clean and spacious (although the lack of a door between toilet and the room was interesting). Snorkel gear rental from the hotel was convenient along with washing and drying stations. The pool courtyard was a nice space for relaxing. Location is an easy walk to restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The property was secure with code access only. The pool and restaurant areas were shady places to spend afternoon down times. Outside facilities for scuba and snorkeling equipment were well organized and clean. Patio room facing the pool would have been a nice. Easy walking to beaches, restaurants, town and snorkeling sites.
