Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Friendly host who speaks good English, plenty of space in dorms, strong WiFi, hot water, laundry service, roof terrace, not far from centre. I'd stay again.

NetherlandsThe receptionist was exceptionally kind and helpful. He spoke fluent English, and helped us with a lot of questions we had as we had just arrived in Bolivia. The room was comfortable and had a decent bed and shower. Good location too.

The older gentleman behind the desk, whose name has slipped my mind, was absolutely fantastic! Very helpful, welcoming and a lovely human. The rooftop area was great also, and the kitchen! Area was good and not too far from the centre:)

CanadaI like pretty well everything.
Great value for money. The manager gave me a private double room for the same price as a dorm room for 3 nights. Great breakfast.

CanadaKitchen is very poor. Bathrooms are dirty. No paper towel to wipe hands.
Rooms are big and the beds are excellent. The lobby area is huge. It is located close to the centre area and close to a small mall with many restaurants

Bolivia1. Poor and unprofessional management: The older man at the reception (Rafael) was rude and unacceptable. He raised his voice and yelled at me when I pointed out that I was wrongly billed for 8 nights instead of 6. He continued lecturing me in an unpleasant manner about the exchange rate, insisting I "follow his calculation," even though my bookings clearly stated the number of nights and price in local currency. After 15 minutes of arguing, he finally agreed on the correct number of nights but still insisted on his own price different from booking.com. When I paid, he angrily threw the change into my hand. This happened in front of other guests and made me feel very uncomfortable. 2. Air conditioning: The same man was secretly entering our dorm daily to turn off the air conditioning and take the remote downstairs , even switching off the electricity from the main board. It was Extremely HOT and HUMID. Despite 5-6 people paying shared price higher than the private one this man was bothered only about the working aircon in the dorm. Every time when asked about the remote, he denied knowing where it was or ignored the request to give it back and switch on the aircon. 3. Cleanliness The dorm was not cleaned properly, and the bathroom was dirty. 4. The beds have no curtains or privacy. 5. Loud Night check-ins: For three nights, guests were checked into the dorm at 2 a.m. The night receptionist slammed doors, turned on full lights, and spoke loudly, ignoring that others were sleeping. The manager ignored to fix this issue despite complaints. 6. Disturbing behavior in the dorm: A local man in his 60s was checked into a 6-bed dorm where only international female slept that night. This man placed a chair next to a girl’s bed late at night and stared at her instead of going to sleep. When asked why he booked the dorm, he said he wanted to "practice English in an international environment"—clearly targeting the female guests.

AustraliaBEDBUGS! First night I got bedbugs! Took photos of them and showed the boss. Apparently he doesn't know what they look like - not good for a hostel owner. Still had to pay for the night. And my laundry fees. And my medication for the bites. Look elsewhere or move on. Not recommended for Bolivia at all. Also wifi is 1/10.
Bedbugs only got me for one night.

GermanyThe place is in the center, in the poorest area of Santa Cruz. If you go out, there is a market and it fells like everybody looks at you. The room got no day light. The floor of the bathroom was dirty for 3 days, no one whipped it. What adds are the strange people there at all.. Go to Santa Cruz only for your flight - absolutely not worth it. And I think you can find a better place than this one, I am sorry, even though the owner was nice
I can’t think of so much sadly 😅
