There is nothing to be done to improve the Empire, it is fabulous!

The Empire is a terrific hotel. From the moment you arrive you are treated so well. The hotel is a beautiful hotel with stunning views. The staff are so helpful and polite. The rooms are enormous and have everything you might want. The bathrooms are so lovely. The facilities are amazing. The pools are terrific. And the food is just wonderful. There is so much choice. My husband needs to be gluten free and there is always so much choice for him. This time, the staff remembered his requirements from the last time we stayed. It is all so impressive.

There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like.

Breakfast was great. I did feel like the selection of cheeses was limited though. Also, the pastries were a bit dry and did not taste fresh. The best parts of breakfast was the view, what a lovely space to sit and eat. The beef curry was also good. The yogurt, cereal, eggs, buns etc was all delicious. Service was good considering how busy it was. Very friendly staff in the breakfast area. We had lunch at the pool and I have to say the food has much improved since last time. The fries were perfect. We loved the huge pool and we were out there most of the time. Spaggettini was also amazing! We also enjoyed the ten pin bowling. Our room was huge and the bathroom is to die for with a spectacular view.

We faced some issues during our stay, such as a bad smell, yellowish water in the room, and confusion over the breakfast billing due to the deposit. However, the issues were resolved, and we felt very relieved upon receiving a handwritten letter from Yusrah, the Duty Manager. It made us feel truly cared for. Although the facilities were outdated, we will definitely come back because of the staffs

Due to the rather distant location outside the city, a complimentary regular shuttle bus service to/from the city center would have been appreciated. More proactive table service at the poolside would also be appreciated.

Very large resort - you need the (readily available) buggies to get around especially to the bowling site. Mosquitoes are about, though the resort does some spraying.

Service of personnel at the pool disappointing. Felt like ignoring us for supplying water where other guests were served. Kidsclub disappointing in activities and there is no entertainment personnel. As a parent you have to stay with your child. For a quality hotel like the Empire is supposed to be I would expect more. Buggy service was disappointing. One event where we requested a buggy and although we were first in line the porter started helping another family that arrived and drove away with them. A 2nd event was where we ordered a buggy and after 15 minutes still no buggy arrived. For all these comments come down to a lack of attention for the guests.

If you have a debit card, be prepared for some extra hassle with room service. You'll need to go to the restaurant first and pay for your meal upfront, as they won’t just take your word that you’ll settle the bill for a steak. And don’t expect them to bring a POS terminal to your room either. At the beach, there’s no lifeguard, but there is a sign that says, “Beware of crocodiles!” That’s when it becomes crystal clear: swimming is strictly for the pool only.

A luxurious hotel with expansive common areas and spacious rooms. Stunning pools, a superb spa, and excellent restaurants.

It feels a bit old, could be better if the prices for additional services wouldn’t be constantly reminded. Only one restaurant is open which for longer stays is not ideal. Despite the property is very well maintained, there are some areas that are a bit old and the beach has some sandflies
