How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe rooms were very comfortable but the highlight was the service. It was up there with the best in the world. Each staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. They patiently took time to make comprehensive recommendations for local transport, food and sightseeing and to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. I would love to stay there again.
The decor was a bit dated. The restaurant was comparatively expensive however the food was high quality and the service there was also amazing.

Verified reviewWe had a fun and relaxing holiday in Brunei thanks to the staff of the Radisson Hotel, most especially our driver, Amin; as well as Naj, Arlyn, Munish, Margie and Muhammad, who helped us with breakfast; and Suryana, Myrsan and Shafiqah who took care of us at dinner. The food was great, the service was exemplary, and our overall experience has been worry-free and memorable (and the beds are the comfiest ever!). We wish the staff all the best for the future. We had no hot water for the entirety of our stay and there were no alternatives besides going down to the gym showers for warm water. The hot water started working on the 3rd morning of our check out.

Super humid, rooms on level 1 & 2 are stuffy, moldy. Bed cushion full of stains. Bed is damp. Had to choose rooms. Eventually went to level 5 (older room but higher and less damp). Asked for a dehumidifier which we turned on most of the day. Shower panel was leaking. Radisson needs to invest in this property and bring it up to date

Verified reviewThe property is centrally located in BSB. Please check with the hotel on booking that you will have a newly renovated room, as per booking photo. We checked in late at night and were disappointed with the room but on querying the following morning, we were moved to a new room which was what we had booked. The staff are helpful and lovely and we are in both the main restaurant and Indian restaurant and both are very good.
Just ensure you have a renovated room. Old rooms are dingy and ours had many issues but we were moved to the room we had booked, as per photo.

Verified reviewThis is the most ideal and comfortable hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan. I stayed here for 2 nights, with one whole day in the capital, and managed to see most attractions in the city, including the mosque, Royal Regalia Museum and the port station to go to Kampong Ayer. The staff are super friendly and will give you the best advice on how to get the best out of Brunei. Also if you love hiking, Tasek Lama is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Depending on your booking as well, there's a shuttle service to Gadong Night Market, which is a must!

Verified reviewUpon arrival at the hotel, around midnight, we couldn't connect to room service for a long time. Even after calling the front desk, we couldn't order anything. The ordering app also didn't work. Secondly, upon check-in, we were informed that there would be no hot water at night. This was false, as even during the day there was no hot water, and at best, it was lukewarm. The day before, we had informed the reception that we requested a late check-out and agreed with the reception that we would leave the room between 1:00 and 1:30 PM. Despite this arrangement, calls were made from 12:30 PM informing us when we could leave the room. There is no ATM on the hotel premises. There was also no fresh drinking water – only dispensers in the hallway. Dirty tap water ran at night. The only positive was the hotel's location. We travel extensively around the world and often stay in Radisson hotels, but the hotel in Brunei falls far short of the brand's standards. A friendly tip: participate more in brand training.
