Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur room felt a little tired and the bedding was a bit uncomfortable - but these are tiny things in comparison with what was good about our Newstead stay!
We loved the location, the architecture, the facilities, the Shuttle to Belmont and the Ferry Shuttle to Hamilton, the staff, the restaurant. We live in the UK but lived in Bermuda for 40+ years, this will be our "go-too" place to stay going forward!

United StatesLet me start from saying that it was quite expensive (as everything in Bermuda), even though it was off season. For the price we paid I`d expect much more or at least some basic breakfast included, special request to be on a higher floor accommodated and hot tub/heated pool actually working throughout the whole stay (was broken last 2 days of our stay, but hotel somewhat compensated us for this inconvenience). So you have to pay for breakfast (around $30 per person minimum - coffee and eggs) and no "cheap" options are available, because it`s a fancy restaurant where you have to go to eat your breakfast. We were placed on the first floor with limited view despite in advance request for higher floor with nicer view. I didn`t get an impression that hotel was full at any point of our stay, but they refused to move us to a room with better view stating that none are available. When I was looking for the hotel in Bermuda this one seemed to be on the least expensive side and looked extremely nice from the pictures and reviews, however it turned out that value is not quite there unfortunately. My main criteria for next Bermuda trip would be proximity to transportation and food options.
Overall nice property with location right across from Hamilton. Hotel has their own ferry, however that ferry has quite a limited schedule and not very convenient at most times (doesn`t run mid-day and stops running way too early in the evening, they`re also off on weekends and holidays). Public ferry stop/bus stop are not that far, but you`d have to walk on the road with no side walk and multiple curves, so you don`t really see what`s coming at you. Roads are super narrow and windy. We walked to the public ferry and bus several times anyway, but didn`t feel super comfortable due to above stated conditions. Hotel has heated pool and hot tab. Jets in the hot tab/control for the jets were broken throughout our stay (only front desk could turn them on), then heating in both pool and hot tab broke on the last 2 days of our stay. There is a fancy restaurant on site - since there aren`t any other food options without transportation, we`ve eaten dinner there several times as well as breakfast. Food was good for the most part (we liked some dishes better than others). Hotel provides rides to their other properties where you can find access to the beach, golf courses and a couple more restaurants (also quite expensive). If I was to go to Bermuda again I`d probably stay in Hamilton or would pick something around St. George, but would definitely consider easier access to different food options and transportation.

United StatesFood wasnt as good as I expected and exhorbitantly priced. Tennis courts could have been in much better shape. New tennis court nets would be the easiest immediate fix needed.
Staff and views are amazing! Spaciousness of suites cant be beat. Double balcony was an nice treat too. We love full kitchens and this one was perfect. Pools were gorgeous and warm, very well maintained.

United StatesIt would have been helpful to be able to have access to purchase food for our suite more easily. The only choice for food in the room was to order from one restaurant, or pay for a taxi to go to the grocery store. The heater to the heated pool was broken, so unfortunately we were not able to enjoy that on our last two days.
We had a fabulous time staying at the Newstead for our girls weekend. The rooms and suites were spacious and comfortable, the restaurants were excellent, golf was very lovely and the course was just challenging enough, and the spa was very nice. The staff was pleasant and helpful when we inquired on anything. The views and grounds are beautiful!

BermudaI have physical challenges and the steps and getting in and out of the tub were challenging. I also wish there was a rail for the hot tub. If I would have known it would be such a challenge, I would have booked a room with a step in shower.
I loved the privacy, cleanliness and beauty. the staff were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. Latitcia, at the front desk went over and beyond in our estimation. she is a gem. She personally made sure were were situated. she escorted us to our room. Set up the AC and got the TV working. she gave us a tour of the property on our way and showed us the best routes to go to avoid the steps. That’s just a taste of what she did to make sure we were comfortable. She is amazing!! An asset to your establishment.

United KingdomEnjoyed our stay - quiet environment and friendly staff throughout. Views across bay to Hamilton City were excellent, especially from infinity pool. Free shuttle services to Hamilton, Newstead golf club and beach were very helpful. Director of Golf (Darron) provided great assistance to us in sorting our golf games (we played five times during our stay!). Food in Aurora was excellent. Kitchen area within room very helpful in sorting out breakfast options. Overall we had a great time at the resort.

United StatesOur room was nice but slightly weathered, as was most of the resort. Plenty of space for 3-4 adults. The restaurant on property was hit or miss. We had some good meals at Aurora and some that were not very good. Blu, the other restaurant that is affiliated with the resort, is at the golf course. Our dinner for three, including two bottles of Chardonnay, was way overpriced and we were not impressed with the food.
Resort is on the waterfront, directly across from downtown Hamilton. The resort has a water shuttle that take you across to Hamilton in 5 minutes. It runs in the morning and late afternoon. There was also a shuttle to a beach and golf course. That was very nice. The Newstead has a partnership with Cocoa Reef Resort that provides access to their pool and beach facilities. That was great. The Newstead staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was large enough for 3-4 adults (2 queen beds) with a nice balcony on the waterfront.
