The roadside location isn’t ideal as we had a dog. Although there is one forest walk that takes you away from the roads( there is very little footpaths to the country roads). The bedroom was a little dated in the bathroom needing regroutting as there was some black mould near the bath tub on the tiles and the sink tap was not secure.

The look of the property and feel when staying here is homely and relaxing. The food was great and the staff ever so polite and friendly and helpful. The building has mix of new and old to it very characterful.

Whilst the room-rate was reasonable, the on-site restaurant was expensive (but good) and the 40-minute walk into town left little alternative. The description on Booking.com also states "mountain view" which there wasn't - the room looked out over the main road outside and then the tree-lined hillside!

The room faced the road which was noisy during the day. It was a bit stuffy, no air con, with no way of keeping insects out if the door was open for ventilation. The bathroom was very narrow and cramped. Large car park. Breakfast was a bit lacking. Hot food was dried up scrambled egg or boil your own egg and the fruit was tired looking.

Considering we were in Belgium, which is supposed to be the home of excellent food. It was not great. Would have preferred simple food rather than overly complicated small portions which pretty average.

The road noise at the front of the hotel is bad even with the windows closed, but when the windows are closed it was extremely hot so we didn’t get much sleep at all.

What I loved about the hotel was that it was very clean and quiet, and the staff was very friendly. But the best advantage is that there are plenty of activities to do in the area. It’s centrally located for hiking, exploring nature, walking, visiting the dam, and so much more.

They are till renovating the hall on the second floor (at the time that we stayed there). Room itself was renewed! Door of the room was an old one.

The TV did not work. The wi-fi was insecure. The restaurant too gourmet for our liking. Here and there smell of drains.

there was no air conditioning in the room and the weather was 32c. so this was the worst thing. and i think the rooms are a bit small.

The hotel was undergoing a renovation and will be even nicer when complete! the proximity to town is perfect just a mile or so. Heavily wooded are and most relaxing

We absolutely loved the location, the view of the river and the hill behind it. The room was most comfortable and the balcony was a definite plus! The staff was most helpful and the breakfast was varied and tasty !

No Wi-Fi or phone reception. No phone in the cabin either so when we had issues we had to get dressed and walk all the way to the main building. Norwegian bath tub took too long to heat up. We only managed to use it after having the log burner on all night. It is set next to a very busy road so you could hear the cars passing by constantly which defeats the point of a nature retreat.

It was clean and the cabin near the river was nicely equipped. Breakfast was delivered to the cabin and it was very tasty with a decent variety of food. The view and the furnishings in the cabin were lovely. The sauna was cosy and with glass floor to ceiling so you can admire the view
