How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSpacious, lovely space, close to train station, well provisioned, helpful host.
Access difficulties, in rough area with uncollected rubbish on streets (not the fault of the B&B!), needs blinds in front room as was too bright to sleep.

Verified reviewWell thought out apartment. Very quiet. Found what I needed in the kitchen.
No privacy, curtains see through. Glass front door doesn't offer security I feel. Location is not one of the best in Brussels. Heating could have been turned on.

Verified reviewDon't get fooled by the apparent value for money, it is a nightmare, stay away!
I arrived after the official check-in time (15.00) to find the apartment as it was left by the previous tenant, sheets all over, breakfast on table and ion the sink, everything dirty, towels, bathroom, bed, etc. I contacted the owner and after a very difficult communication - poor language skills but also very poor responsiveness, he put me in contact with the cleaning lady, which let me know she has first to eat and then in will take an hour to get there. Long story short I could only 'enjoy' my stay after 18.00. I also contacted booking's CS about this issue and never got any response to this day - part of the score goes to them too. In the sleeping area at least but in fact all over there was a strong and very disturbing cigarette smoke that wouldn't let me sleep. The breakfast was a joke, better advertise the room with no breakfast included and spend 1.5 euros yourself to get what they provide as breakfast. After the stay I needed an invoice for my stay for my work and it was incredibly difficult to explain the owner what I needed, and he finally provided a joke of a paper filled with errors and not in the name of the employer I provided. Asked for a corrected one, never received.. What a nightmare of a stay, spare yourself the trouble!

Verified reviewIt is very close to Brussels Midi so the location is good. The flat was within a complex where keys were needed to open first a gate and then the flatdoor so it felt very secure. It was quiet and any neighbours we bumped into were helpful when the lifts were out of order, showing us the stairs.
The lighs were awful, far too weak. The beds were pretty uncomfortable, especially if like me you have back issues. I had read some reviews regarding the "breakfast" and I now wholly agree with those- dry bread with marmalade, not to my liking. The lifts being out of order was a nuisance as I have mobility issues and so was struggling with the stairs :-(

Verified reviewThe apartment is simply amazing, super big and well equiped. The location is also great if you want to be close to Brussels Midi, and it is walking distance to the center, never had to take bus/cab to visit around (although bus/metro station is really close as well). I would definitely choose the same place if I were to visit Brussels again. Also, the value for money is incredible.

Verified reviewSylvain replied messages quickly; the room is full-equipped, i.e. hairdryer, laundry machine and dryer, microwave, TV, and so on.
Although receiving with the instruction, the room is not that easy to be found.

Verified reviewGood for stopover by train. Good cost benefit ratio. Very quiet despite because in backyard house. Would not expect when entering from the street. Pretty safe with two gates. Modern and very spacious apartment. Good staffed kitchen. Balcony. Single use. Close to alternative neighbourhood with some bars and coffee places and a very good bakery. Need a bit of good orientation and language skills to find the place.

Lift doesn't work. Quite hard access to the apartment. Road works everywhere, also beds are not very comfortable.

Verified reviewVery large , clean modern apartment, 5 minutes walk from Brussels Midi station. Comprehensive instructions provided to find the key and the apartment.
Would have appreciated a few written notes eg where to leave the key, what the 5 different rubbish bins are for, how to use TV etc. Breakfast was only a loaf of bread and jam left in the fridge.

Lots of trip hazards in the main building (not the flat itself). I have poor eyesight so difficult.

Verified review- Flat is well equipped, washing machine, dryer, fridge, oven, microwave.
- No breakfast, it's only jam and toast !! You can't sell the flat saying it's breakfast included. - I didn't feel safe because of the area around, thanks God nothing happened, but this is what I felt. - it's far from city centre. - all area around has a huge construction. - it's expensive comparing to what I got

Verified reviewThe apartment was much bigger than I expected, it was enough for a family of 4 to accommodate easily (although I was alone)
Breakfast was announced but the contact person stopped communicating when I asked questions on what the breakfast arrangements were. So no breakfast in the end.
