How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was great, beautiful nature
We arrived at the B&B at 16.30 hours, although the room was ready we were told a couple of times that we were not supposed to arrive before 17.00 hours. Did not feel like a warm welcome. At the booking.com site was mentioned that you could pay by card, but after booking the place we received a message from the owner that only cash was excepted. We found it very awkward to have to get cash at an ATM to pay for our stay, but the owner told us this is how it is being done for the last 20 years. The room was spacious, but the beds were so soft it was like sleeping in a hammock, and the shower was in a bathtub without any shower curtain or a shower head hanger. So you had to shower holding the shower head trying to avoid making the whole bathroom wet. The room door could not be locked, none of the rooms could be locked and the owner mentioned that they also don’t lock their own door and never experienced issues. Breakfast was at one big table together with the other guests which felt a bit tight, you were told which chairs you could take and the owners were eating their breakfast at the same time as the guests. You could order 1 egg, boiled or fried. There was no fruit presented, only after mentioning this I could get an Apple. If you have celiac desease (gluten intolerance) there is not much to eat at breakfast, no gluten-free bread and the bread toppings in jars, or the butter has to be taken with the knife used to spread it on your bread, so cross contamination is unavoidable.
Hello, Thank you for your feedback, although we are of course sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. For over 20 years, we have welcomed guests into our home with simplicity, warmth, and friendliness. It’s true that our house has its own authentic charm, and that our approach is not that of a hotel. This is a deliberate choice, and it reflects what most of our guests are looking for – "the place creates the connection." We have taken note of your comment regarding the welcome. Your arrival before the agreed check-in time may have contributed to a slightly tense first impression, and we regret that. Usually, we like to take our time to welcome each guest in the best possible conditions. Breakfast is a very important moment for us. We share it at the same table as our guests – not due to lack of space, but to encourage conversation, connection, and meaningful exchanges. This is very much the spirit of a guesthouse. We offer homemade or carefully selected products from organic and local shops, with great attention to quality: jams, bread, cheese, eggs, yogurt, etc. Regarding specific dietary needs such as coeliac disease, we certainly understand the constraints this may bring. However, in a family setting like ours, we cannot guarantee a completely gluten-free environment or avoid all cross-contamination. That is why our gluten-intolerant guests usually bring their own suitable products, which we believe is simpler and safer for everyone. If you require sealed, certified gluten-free items and strict handling protocols, a hotel or specialized establishment may be more suitable for your needs. As for the rest, we have taken note of your remarks about the amenities. Some features (such as the mattress or the traditional bathtub/shower) are indeed a matter of personal preference, but they are part of the house’s authentic character – and are often appreciated by many of our guests. We wish you many wonderful discoveries on your future travels and hope that, despite everything, you were still able to enjoy the beauty of our region. Kind regards, Georges and Géraldine

Verified reviewThis is a place from a fairytale! Every detail in this family house has its character and you can feel how much effort and love was invested in it. Impressive nature around. When you drive through the town, you cannot even imagine how much beauty awaits for you at this B&B. We enjoyed so much walking near the property: you cross a bridge over a small river and have a view on the small forest and fields. Also, close to the house there are fields where horses are kept - we took a while to adore them. Many thanks to George for showing us their beautiful garden and the water mill! It was interesting to see all those family pictures around the house as well. Hosts were sweet and flexible, taking in consideration that we made kind of the last-minute reservation in the afternoon when they did not expect it and were in Bruxelles :). We had a very special breakfast with tasty cheese, home-made bread & jams (the apricot one with rosemary is special) & apple juice. It also was an unexpected and interesting experience to cut the boiled egg with a special tool. Little dog was a lovely and cute bonus.

Verified reviewBeautiful location in a very green valley. Hospitality was superb. Comfortable and large bedroom on second floor . Nice hot bath. Parking avaliable and easy. We booked an evening meal with the hosts and I must say it was superb , particulary as they ate with us. The company was excellant and conversation interesting. A delightful evening. Breakfast was explained in the morning and based on all local produce. Nothing was a bother for our host in the morning. Had to have a little walk around before we left.
Nothing to dislike.
