Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLots of eateries close on Tuesdays, but that's nothing to do with the hotel!
Central location, with stunning view of bell tower and pretty courtyard from our room ('Monet'), into which we were kindly allowed to check in an hour early due to rain. Complimentary teas and coffee, plus croissants and biscuits (left over from breakfast) rather than hospitality trays on our room - the hotel has great eco-credentials. Unusual retro style (brown 1950s/60's wood) with black and white film stills on the walls. Good breakfast included in room rate - fresh orange juice and homemade tray bakes stood out. Large fluffy towels.

United KingdomWe had booked the hotel because we wanted Twin beds ,they had put 2 singles together to make a double bed which was made up as a double bed with not a very big duvet ,so neither person had enough duvet to cover them .The toilet was in a separate room within the bedroom and the shower and the basin was in another separate room within the bedroom this isn't hygienic it would have been ok if there had been a wash basin in the room with the toilet .The room didn't have a fan or air con and no double glazing ,the bedroom windows look out onto a street ,which is used as a cut through to the main street ,the traffic didn't stop all night ,and unfortunately I didn't have ear plugs
The staff were really friendly and helpful ,gave us a guided tour ,of the hotel ,we were on the ground floor in a room called tango ,a lot of the rooms were called after dances the room was huge and had a sofa and a desk etc .You could help yourself to free tea and coffee .It was near the old city town centre .Breakfast was lovely lots of variety and choice ,nice court yard to sit in outside

United KingdomI paid for a deluxe double but ended up in the 'apartment room,' which felt a bit tired and underwhelming. It didn’t match the standard I was expecting, especially in terms of finish (no shower curtain, a kitchen that has an empty hole for built in cooker), but it was very spacious for one person."
Great hotel with really warm and friendly staff. However, I’m not quite sure how I ended up in the 'apartment' after booking (and paying for) a deluxe double!

CanadaOur room was on the Main Street and the noise was very loud from the cars driving on the cobblestone. I would suggest to ask for a room not on the street.
They were kind enough to let us check in earlier. And Olivier at the front desk and breakfast was amazing. We felt safe and we were really close to everything.

United Kingdomneeds at least a bottle of water in the room, very hard pillows made it very hard to sleep. Similarly there was a smell of smoke coming from the toilet in the room. otherwise a good hotel but ask to change pillow and buy water before bed, for the cost of the room water should have been included
breakfast was good, the location of the hotel is excellent and the building itself. the staff were great too.

United KingdomThe room we were in was lovely, one thing that could improve it though would be to add a screen, or separate cubicle, so you can use the shower properly. The floor gets wet when you wash your hair. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Most of the hot food had run out by the time we arrived and the choice of cereals was limited.
Unfortunately on check in we found our room smelled strongly of cigarettes (107). I reported this to reception and Arthur was quick to help, finding us another room. He actually upgraded us to a very nice room (Opera on the top floor) for which we were very grateful The parking facilities were very handy and so close - we luckily got the last space! The approach to the hotel gives an exclusive feel, the outdoor courtyard would be a nice spot to sit in warmer months before with a cocktail! I liked the decor of the hotel. The movie theme was done well, sometimes it can be a little cheesy, but not here. It was fresh and along with the nice furnishings made for a really relaxing atmosphere.

United KingdomNothing really, just slightly noisy in the late evening, but would expect some noise in a town centre location like this.
The hotel has a hip and trendy feel and is just a short distance from the main square in Tournai, with its bell tower and many bars and restaurants. We received a warm welcome here. Our ground floor room ('Disco' - complete with disco balls!) was compact, clean and well equipped. Sleep quality wise, we did get a bit of street noise late in the evening, though not enough to significantly disturb us. Breakfast was very good, with excellent pastries. A big plus for us was being able to park our motorbike in the hotel's courtyard, which was secured overnight, by arrangement.
