Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe hotel offers a wonderful stay, largely thanks to its excellent central location that makes exploring the city on foot incredibly easy. This is complemented by a team of friendly and attentive staff who ensure the spotless rooms are a comfortable retreat. Additionally, the on-site bar and restaurant provide delicious food and a lively, yet relaxed, atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to unwind.

AustriaWe missed a towel hanger next to the sink. A plastic plant 🪴 was a misfit and took up too much precious space off a console table. We could hardly sleep during the night while a Dance Festival was taking place at the Market Square until after 2am. If one likes to dance in your sleep it would have been no problem.
Friendly and helpful staff at the reception and the restaurant/Tapas Bar. Food is very good and it was nice to have such good place on site which is very popular with the locals. The location was excellent as it is just behind the Markt.

Very nice little hotel. The young man at reception was very nice and had lots of great tipps for us. The room was spacious and clean, we really liked it. Location was great - very central, but not where all the (other) tourists are. If you stay here, you MUST try the restaurant - the cuisine is amazing!

AustriaThe bathrooms are tiny and not comfortable. We could also hear everything from the hallway and the neighbor's doors slamming early in the morning.

CanadaOur shower was clean but outdated, good hot water though! Sliding door on bathroom doesn’t offer a lot of privacy, but pub downstairs does have washrooms…
A perfect location right in the centre of Bruges. Just around the corner from the main square, and a short walk to all the highlights. Great pub downstairs, (sophisticated not rowdy!) pub reservations a must, even for beer and apps. Apps were creative, delish, friendly bartender, cool popular retro spot! The room was small but very CLEAN, comfy, no AC, spiral staircase, quiet street at night. We parked in convenient & cheap city lot outside of old town and grabbed the free city shuttle bus that runs through town, it gets u within a 3 minute walk of the hotel. (Get off by the Main Square)

United StatesWe were happy our room had a fan, but it didn't feel like it moved air, a stronger fan or ceiling fan is needed. Also, the bathroom door situation was awkward.
The location was awesome, breakfast was lovely and the staff was very helpful. Our room (51) was spacious.

NetherlandsWe were staying in the triple room, 2x grown-ups and a 5-year old. It’s very warm in the room in the summer , there is understandably no air conditioning considering the building is quite old, but as the windows are just above the bar terrace, the child cannot sleep with windows open. Bar closes around midnight which is no problem for adults, but for a kid it was a bit challenging to fall asleep in the heat and with bar buzz
The location is top notch, the building is beautiful and the restaurant downstairs has amazing food and drinks! The bathroom was small but good layout, no problem with that.

The location was great! Everything was walkable from the hotel. The room was good, a little small, but everything was in order and clean. The breakfast was also really nice with a great selection. We particularly enjoyed the 'beer garden'. within the hotel - super peaceful space within the busy city.

The location was amazing a three minute walk from the main square. The staff were so, so lovely. Accomodating and super friendly. The bar and restaurant downstairs were gorgeous, especially the terrace. Sadly we didn't try the food but it looked delicious. The beer menu was unbelievable too
