Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Breathtaking historic hotel located in a well-appointed 15th-Century Ottoman hammam building, adjacent to a beautiful mosque. The hotel is perfectly styled with authentic and vintage-style interiors which give off a great atmosphere. The fresh Bosnian breakfast spread was huge and home cooked, while the stylish Arabesque hammam itself was stunning with its marble features, wall decorations, arches, jacuzzi and tranquil atmosphere.Simply a must-stay in Sarajevo!

United StatesThe traditional breakfast was wonderful. The hammam/spa exceeded all expectations. My friend and I go the "Cleopatra" treatment which included exfoliation and some massage. It was heaven! The staff was so kind and helpful throughout our trip. The hotel is across the street from the Old Town and market. This is a wonderful place!

Everything! The building’s history is amazing. The working hamam is a distinct pleasure. Staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Great little breakfast area only adds to one’s pleasure. And: you are right across the river from the corner where archduke Ferdinand was murdered! We were actually in (Sarajevo on the 111th anniversary of his assassination.)

CanadaPerhaps the biggest inconvenience was that there was no iron in the rooms. You have to give it to the staff to iron, and while one of them did it happily for us, the other refused to iron without an extra charge. The ironing staff comes at around 7:45 am and leaves around 5 pm, so bring your own iron if this is important to you. Breakfast starts at 7:30 am which made it very tight for us because most of our tours started at 8 am. BE CAREFUL with the price on booking.com as it's not accurate. The hotel will charge an extra 2 Euros per person per night which booking.com doesn't tell you about. This added up very quickly for us. I have filed a complaint with booking.com but haven't received a response. Also, I had to pay at the hotel not through the booking.com which I wasn't informed would be the case. The hotel accepted card.
The hotel location is great, just steps away from all the main attractions and the old village, with a bakery right next to it and plenty of restaurants nearby. Most of the staff were very friendly and went over and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was great! On the table they have jam, honey, butter, molasses with tahini, olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, gouda cheese, salami, sausage (all halal), and bread basket, then for each person they ask what type of eggs you'd like (options are sunny side up, omelette, scrambled with or withour cheese). They also provide juice, coffee, Turkish tea, or English breakfast tea depending on what you'd like. Everything was delicious and very filling. Toiletries were provided in the room and topped up daily which was great. Room had a kettle and a fridge. We were provided with teabags and sugar. Coffee is outside by the reception. It was also nice that there were toilets near the reception. Useful for a family that has to share a room with one toilet! We didn't try the hammam.

United StatesVery minor, but there's no tea in the rooms, only in the lobby. (There is a kettle and coffee in the room). Also it would be nice to have a water cooler or fountain.
Fantastic location on the edge of the old town, with access to a historic hamam (get a peel, or just spend time in the steam and pool). Kind staff can't do enough for you especially in the hamam. Full Turkish breakfast. The softest towels! Excellent espresso in the lobby too.

Warm and friendly staff. Furniture in the whole hotel is wooden ottoman style, v unique! Building has a lot of history too. A warm and comfortable stay overall.
