How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewActually nothing
This was by far the worst stay I’ve ever had. The room was extremely small, and the beds were shaking. Staff were very rude, including the owner! The pictures online are completely misleading; the reality is far worse, and it felt like a scam. There were only two bathrooms there serving the whole hostel. I checked out earlier than planned because the conditions were unbearable. I strongly advise other travelers to avoid this property. There are many better options in the area – do not waste your money or your time here. Rating: 1/10
Thank you for your review. First of all, you were totally rude to our 16yo son Faris at check-in just because you had to wait for 2 minutes in front of the door, you then brought an uninvited guest to the hostel which is obviously prohibited and clearly explained in our house rules that you should have read. Finally we just want to clarify that we have 2 BATHROOMS in the main building and other 2 in the other building that is still part of the hostel, clearly more than enough for the amount of people we host. Please do not spread false information and do not stay in hostels if you are not able to follow basic social rules in shared spaces, thanks.

Verified reviewA great hostel, with friendly staff and comfortable facilities. The tour with Miran is obviously the highlight I am super appreciative that he takes the time to teach travellers about Bosnian history and his own experiences. Thank you.
Thank you Cody, we are really glad you had a great time and enjoyed the tour, it means a lot to us.

Verified reviewSuper great hospitality from Maja Miran and the volunteers. I loved the tour organised by Miran, the facilities and calm of the venue. Also everything is well maintained daily. I could leave my touring bike in the garden that was very convenient.
Thanks for your beautiful review Raphael, we would be happy to welcome you here again!

Verified reviewLike many others has said before me, it’s not like a hostel, it’s like a family! From the moment you walk in you feel like home! The hostel is small which I like because it’s easier to meet people and it feels more homey. There’s a small communal kitchen and a garden. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. I did the full day tour with Miran, which I absolutely recommend! You can book tours everywhere but I doubt they are as good, as he has such an amazing personality and shares his stories about the war and the city. Other than that he’s always around, he really looks after you, give you advice on things to do or onwards travels. His family and staff are all also amazing and so so friendly! The hostel is also in a great location, walking distance to everything! I booked for 2 nights but extended 1 more, would have stayed longer but they were fully booked sadly! So book your stay in advance! ☺️ Would 100% return if I come back to Mostar ❤️
Thank you for amazing review. If ever come back my door is always open for you.

Verified reviewThe location was great - 5-10 minutes walk from the train/bus station, and 15-20 minutes walk to the Old Town and Bridge. The staff were wonderful (Miranda, Una and Marko) and the wifi worked really well. Miran cooked soup for everyone in the hostel one night, which was nice, and I heard the tour he runs is really good too!

Verified reviewOne of my best experiences in a hostel. Just the moment I was arriving, Miran, the owner, saw me a bit lost and escorted me straight to the reception. There's an energy in this place that makes you feel you want to prolong your stay. The staff makes you feel part of the family. You can really feel the local taste of Mostar and the hospitality of Bosnian people in this place. I'd highly recommend doing the day trip with Miran. It's an experience that enhances your life.
There's not much I can say, my stay was perfect.

Verified reviewMy favourite hostel on my journey through Bosna and Herzegovina and Montenegro. This place feels like a home when you are on the road. The owner has really personal approach and greets everyone. It is easy to meet and chat to other travellers. Atmosphere is very nice and chilled out. It is not a party hostel but definitelly a social place. Rooms and facilities are very clean, fresh and tidy. It is near to the bus station and walkable distance to the old town. There is a shop nearby and also restaurants to eat local food. I would pick this hostel again. Loved it!
Thank you so much for nice reviews. Welcome again Dominica

Verified reviewA family owned hostel, Central to Old Town, New town and both bus and train station. Very comfortable, beds with sheets and blankets. Rooms have windows and air conditioning. Small communal kitchen and two wash closet with shower, toilet and sink to share with guests. Delicious Bosnian breakfast offered every morning with charge. Outdoor space to relax, socialise and share a meal. Quiet neighborhood, steps away from local park, bakery and variety of restaurants and cafes. Host offers day trip to sacred sights, lookout point and waterfalls. Make time to socialise and slow down your travel. Wonderful hosts, kind and caring.
Nothing really, but not a party hostel. Hostel has rules, as it is a home as well as a hostel. No personal light or outlets at bed. Communal power strip throughout rooms, not a problem.

Verified reviewIt was very close to the bus station, there is also shops and a bakery near by. I met some nice people while staying here and the bed was very comfortable.
The host, Miran, asked me about how I was leaving the next day. I told him about my late bus the next day, and he saidI should not have picked that bus, that I would be waiting for hours etc, why would I do that, but did not give me any help with getting a better bus. It left me feeling a bit unsettled and worried about my journey the next day. The bathroom floor was also always covered with water and hairs.
