Garage entrance is extremely narrow and steep. Almost impossible to enter with a large car.

During our visit to Sarajevo, we stayed at Başkuça Hotel and had the smoothest, most delightful experience of our trip here. The architecture of the hotel is exceptionally well thought out; every detail exudes quality. From the toothbrushes and towels to all other room amenities, everything is of the highest standard. The staff are extremely polite and welcoming. The breakfast is excellent, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the location is perfect—just a short walk to the bazaar and right next to Aliyev’s tomb. If I ever come to Sarajevo again, I wouldn’t even consider another place. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone planning to stay.

The door of the room is not as soundproof as I expected. Still, it’s very comfortable

Beautifully designed hotel with very friendly staff. The room was spacious and the breakfast service was amazing. The uphill location might be a challenge for some people but you get a less noisy neighborhood in return.

One suggestion is the hotel should have irons available to use. Everything else was perfect.

All staff were very friendly and welcoming, when we needed help with anything they went above and beyond.

The rooms were a little on the small size (still beautiful rooms) and the AC was difficult to manage especially because some days were extremely hot outside.

Benjamin! Star of the show. He went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and even set up a little surprise for us as we told the hotel we are coming for an occasion. The hotel was located in one of the best areas possible for tourists with great access to key sites, restaurants and other amenities. The hotel also had parking which was convenient.

If possible, try and avoid Room 1 and 2 downstairs as the bin collection trucks after midnight daily can get very loud.

It's probably the best location as the old town is just 5 mins walk away and the hill top for sunset views is 10 mins walk behind the hotel. The staff are very friendly, especially Muhammad in the restaurant. The hotel also has a free EV charger in the underground parking which is very useful if you are driving electric in these regions.

Only one tiny niggle - having to phone reception each night to ask them to turn off the music playing in the corridor!

Very classy and elegant hotel, spotlessly clean, beautiful oasis off the busy streets! Absolutely fabulous breakfast with a great choice of cheeses, meats, fruits, freshly cooked eggs and breads and some local food. Lovely staff and a special mention to the young waiting staff at breakfast who were very sweet and friendly.

Nothing! Everything was perfect!

Amazing hidden gem in the heart of Sarajevo! We definitely have to come again! 10/10! The interior of the hotel is so beautifully chosen with love for details, combining history, tradition and modern architectural elements. The hotel is very clean, centrally located, yet in a quiet neighborhood. The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful (special thanks to Mirsada and the whole team from the restaurant). The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an inside space (as a winter garden) and outside terrace. The food is delicious with a large variety of fresh local produce. The rooms are very clean and spacious with comfortable beds and a lovely interior. Thank you everyone and we hope to see you again!

Not a bother for us, but note that this a dry hotel. Also – despite the solid breakfast buffet, it seemed a little silly that espresso / capuccino etc. weren't included for free.

Hard to imagine a better combination of history, location, and luxury in Sarajevo. Great for big walkers / explorers. Situated just above Baščaršija and near the best sunset points in the city. Our room was great – very clean and modern, with a premium bathroom and mattress – and offered a great view of the city.

Their air conditioning system cannot cope with temperatures above 28 Deg C. It went up to 38 Deg C during our stay.

I had planned to stay two nights, but I extended another night with Baškuća Hotel. This is one of the most fascinating hotel that I have ever stayed. The room is so clean and wonderful; it’s only few minutes to the famous landmarks. Breakfast is amazing as well. I especially appreciate Benjamin, who carried the luggage for me even when he was off his shift, offering me advice on making the trip and greeting me everyday with cheerful spirits. Definitely will come back!
