How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe were greeted by very friendly staff who showed us around. There was private parking under a carport with a gate, which was great. The shower had endless hot water without messing around with a boiler; quite rare in Bosnia! A 2 minute walk away was a small shop with essentials.
The bed wasn't very comfortable. The matress is very hard and the bed is noisy with every movement. Unfortunately, we didn't have a good sleep because of this.
hvala aki nas madrac je memorijska pjena tako da nemoze biti neudoban

Verified review* Staff: They were kind and helpful. * Facilities: The apartment was large. The kitched had the things one may need. The wi-fi and hot water was good. * Cleanliness: The apartment was clean. * Comfort: It was comfortable. * Location: The neighbourhood is quiet, peaceful and safe. You can have a beautiful city view as apartment is located on a hill. It was about 30 minutes walk to the city centre. It was safe to walk. Yet, I do not recommend to walk back from city centre as the road is very steep. Even though the distance on the map does not seem much, it becomes a cardio exercise to walk. So, I would recommend taking the bus or taxi to return back.

Verified reviewclose to city center, quiet location, good parking for motorbike, large room, very pleasant and helpful hosts, well-equipped kitchen, good wifi, enough power outlets
the facilities were a bit old, but in good condition so it is not really a negative; similarly the steep road leading to this place - not a negative but good to know

Verified reviewSpacious room up a hill in a quiet part of Sarajevo. Excellent kitchen with everything you could need and option to sit outside in the garden. Bed was good. Great for the price
We underestimated the walk uphill with all our luggage, it was quite steep. There were almost no curtains, so we woke up when it got light outside. Bathroom was not great, and there was no sink in the bathroom.

Verified reviewThe accommodation is in a beautiful location, spacious and clean. It has everything you need. The hosts are very kind, they made me coffee, and when I forgot something in the apartment, they accommodated me. I recommend it.
The road to the apartment is a bit challenging for inexperienced drivers, but with caution, you can manage it.

Verified reviewHost was great, he kindly navigate us to the apartment. Since we were on motorcycles, he make sure that the bikes remain safe in garage. They were so gentle that they offered traditional bosnian coffee and when we were planning to go to the city he offered to drive us there.
Everything was ok, zero complaints

Verified reviewWe had a superbe welcome, they picked us up at the train station as we arrived late. The host speaks a little English and we managed to have a nice discussion on the way to the house. They also very kindly helped us do a washing machine. The apartment is quite confortable, has a kitchen with what is needed to cook (although Bosnian food is amazing and pretty cheap, so I recommend trying to eat in traditional restaurants too!). The house is located on a hill with a beautiful view over the city (we were suprised by how Sarajevo's hills can be very steep!!). We like to walk, so we walked down to the city center (about 25 minutes), I recommend it, as it is a nice walk, there is a path that crossed green areas with small houses. But for the way back it is really too steep, so we took a taxi. There is theoretically a bus stopping nearby, but we spoke with a kind driver who confirmed there are no timetables and no precise number of bus, seems one per hour. The room doesn't have dark curtains, so don't forget to bring an eye mask if you are sensitive to light (it seems to be a common habit in the area though).
I have a few simple improvement suggestions: the checkout time was indicated at 10am on booking. On the day we left, we were ready to leave at 9.50am but felt pressured to leave before as we understood that other guests had already arrived. Due to language barrier, we might have misunderstood the situation but we felt uncomfortable, which is a pity considering the great stay we had. I would recommend confirming time of checkout with future guests to avoid any misunderstanding. Also 2 simple things would make the place perfect: add a shower curtain, because now the floor stays wet for the whole day, especially because we need the shower to wash hands; and add curtains in the room to not get woken up by light early in the morning (especially because there are already the tracks :)).

Verified reviewBed. Very comfortable. Couch was also comfy. There was warm water at all times.
The bathroom is really outdated, there wasnt a shower but a bath, which was impractical for us. No sink in the bathroom and no mirror. Checkout is too early, curfew should be a little longer.
