Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Very warm and kind welcome to a lovely hotel in walking distance to some of the main sightseeing spots in Sheki. We very much enjoyed our stay and the breakfast on the upper floor of the building. We even got an upgrade for one of the 2 rooms that we had booked. When in the morning the water boiler in the room did not work, the person at the reception went to a nearby restaurant to get my friend one. We cannot recommend this place more highly.

New ZealandThe Hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of town. An uphill walk to the old town but easy to get on the many local buses that travel past the hotel entrance if you are not wanting or unable to walk the distance. All the staff were very friendly, the Manager particularly helpful and obliging.

United KingdomWi-Fi was patchy from the room. The sink in the bathroom was too small and the option to pay by card was not available. Breakfast room was nice but fairly limited options.
Location was great, between the old town and new town. Staff was friendly as well and helpful. The room I stayed in was excellent, very spacious and good view of the hills of Sheki.

United Kingdom- On the downside, despite my experience staying at non-chain hotels, I understand that these types of hotels typically don't offer daily service. As a result, I had to ask for amenities like shower gel, shampoo, and toilet paper during our multi-day stay. !!! Additionally, I was concerned about the electrical outlet located right next to the bathroom sink. It made me nervous every time I washed my hands or face, as I was worried about the safety risks. I strongly recommend the hotel consider installing safety covers to prevent any potential hazards. Please see the photo.
- The hotel’s location is perfect, with easy access to local attractions. - The reception team was always helpful and responsive, making my stay smooth and enjoyable. - The breakfast was fantastic, but the dinner at the restaurant was the real highlight great quality food at very reasonable prices.

United KingdomRoom was very dated, needs refurbishment...
The hotel is central, with parking if required. We were given a free upgrade to a room with a large balcony, which we appreciated, (although it had no chairs or table on the balcony). The room was a good size but in need of refurbishment, it was all rather dated and worn.... the bed was comfortable but the bathroom was very small and cramped. The public areas and the restaurant have interesting displays. The restaurant has good views and the breakfast was okay. The reception staff were very good, helped with bags to the room, kindly arrange for some laundry and can arrange transport as required. It's about a fifteen minutes walk up hill to the palace, which is well worth a visit. Its also very central to the town for restaurants. It's "not" a boutique hotel but good value and very central.

IndiaThe building is old so the toilet had flush issues sometimes due to the sensor. It was an easy fix though, you just have to lift the flush tank lid and push the sensor a bit and it starts working. This was just a minor issue for us, nothing that detracted from our stay at all. Otherwise all was great.
Lovely boutique property in Sheki Old Town. The room we stayed in was really spacious and comfortable and retained traditional elements of Azerbaijani decor. It was also very clean. The breakfast every morning was delicious and in a beautiful restaurant on the top floor of the building. The gentleman who manages the property was super friendly and took care of all our needs, while still remaining very laid back and chill- he totally put us at our ease. Highly recommend if you're looking for a comfortable stay in Sheki!

IndiaNothing. It was all good.
The first-floor room right above the entrance. Large windows allowed ample sunlight. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous. They have a good collection of books and artefacts about the country. Breakfast is a Turkish/Azerbaijani spread with breads, various cold cuts, boiled eggs, while fruits, yoghurt, cheese, butter and cream. They make eggs to order. It is very substantial. They have their own car and can arrange for transfers to Baku/Ganja etc. The cost is slightly higher but worth it. The Sheki fortress is about 30 mins walk.

Room and bathroom are a very good size, are clean and have all confort. Breakfast is varied, plentiful and in a room with a view of the greenery.
