Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAbsolutely wonderful. What an idyllic setting for our stay in Freycinet. If you want views of Freycinet, Piermonts is for you. It has a variety of accommodation options, private beaches and amazing views. The people on reception are very welcoming, the rooms were well heated, and in-room pasta meal was delicious.

AustraliaAn old-fashioned one-page print out of vetted local places to eat or get supplies would have been of benefit, including approximate opening hours. We were caught short on the second night and ended up having to cook dinner ourselves. The breakfast supplies did not seem generous compared to what we have experienced at other locations. Two people for two mornings require a little more variety and amount of food when breakfast needs to be self-done. We had to go to Reception for more milk and tea supplies. The space was lovely but is starting to feel a little too 'rustic' around the edges. Just a little more attention to detail on regular maintenance/cleaning. Dinner was beautiful - it may have been where we were seated - but the space felt a little cold and lacking atmosphere and 'warmth'. One of us had our backs to the whole room and we do miss tablecloths...was the space too big for the number of people? That said the quality of the food was outstanding.
A beautiful part of the world and facilities to match. We were promised beach frontage and that is exactly where we found ourselves. The space was much bigger than it appeared in the photos. We were able to park our car reasonably close to our cottage, it should be noted that if you have accessibility issues you may need assistance with your luggage as not even ground. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner at the Homestead, seafood focused, on one evening. We appreciated the ability to have an open fire and took advantage of this. The cottage afforded good privacy.

AustraliaBlack mould in the original bathroom
Originally booked a room with balcony and bathtub overlooking the water. Partner is sensitive to mould, unfortunately the bathroom shutters and grout had black mould. This was reported to staff and we were swiftly offered an alternative room (complimentary upgrade). Turned out better for us as we were able to cook and use the kitchen facilities in the upgraded room. Very grateful to the staff. We received a full loaf of bread, jams, granola and milk for our breakfast. I received a message prior check-in to advise there was a shortage of eggs. We celebrated my partner's bday and he received a lovely gift of Tasman Salt. Dinner at the Homestead was good

AustraliaThe pillows were a bit too soft for my liking and there seemed to be a minor millipede problem in the bathroom.

AustraliaStunning location & views, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a King Suite which was a lovely surprise & the bed was wonderfully large. Bathroom was magnificently luxurious, only thing I would have preferred was also having a hand held shower head instead of just a rainshower. The staff at both Reception and the Homestead restaurant were fab and the meal there had innovative touches that surprised & delighted.

AustraliaThere needed to be a bedside table next to both sides of the bed. Also, even though the hidden lighting behind the bed gave an aura of cosiness, it was not strong enough to read a book by. We tripped over the steps a few times, too.
Lovely building and just a very short walk to the beach.

We only stayed here for one night but the Piermont retreat had such a nice feel about it. The view from the deck of our suite was beautiful & somewhere where you could spend several hours taking in the beauty of the area. Really comfortable bed & a very large functional bathroom with a beautiful view. The homestead restaurant on site is a bonus where we enjoyed a nice meal & some great wine.

AustraliaNo air con unit in the whole accommodation which made the warm weather difficult to manage at night as no fly screens on living room or bedroom sliding door either. one of the reasons for booking was the pool but it isn't heated. Lovely beach close by but I have some mobility issues so not an option for me. Beautiful and quiet.
We were away with friends for our 33rd wedding anniversary and the restaurant set menu option was a spectacular choice. Food, service and atmosphere were all perfect. Beautiful accommodation and setting. The Luna units are very spacious and well fitted out except for no air con. Very close to Milton and Devils corner wineries
