It's a small room which was ok. The heater was on and was overly hot especially for the top bunk with no way of reducing it.

Good place for the price. The kitchen is fully decked out with oven and microwaves and there is also a living/lounge room with a fire (both shared). Place is clean and for most of the complex nicely warm.

No double bed, yet marketed as the double room. I thought the room had a double bed with a bunk above, as per some the photos in the description.

The heating could not be controlled inside the room. During our stay, it was either very cold (when the heating barely worked) or very hot, forcing us to open the window. Unfortunately, the worst part was the noise. There was literally zero soundproofing—you could hear a spider sneezing in the room next to you. We were unlucky enough to have extremely loud neighbors who partied every single night until 3-4 am. It was so loud that even -30 dB earplugs didn't help. Talking to the neighbors also made no difference. The administration attempted to contact them (only by phone), and after this failed on the second complaint, the receptionist said there was nothing else they could do. More specifically, he said something along the lines of, "People in that room also paid money and can do whatever they want." I finally had to call the police, and only then did the receptionist come to the premises and knock on their door. I can't imagine a worse attitude. Perhaps the receptionist should consider another job. If a hostel can't provide the basic need of quiet hours for guests to sleep and refuses to do anything beyond "giving a call" to noisy neighbors, I wouldn't recommend anyone stay there.

The hostel is clean and well-maintained. It's an affordable option compared to other accommodations in the area. If you're lucky enough to have neighbors who don't party until the early morning hours, it's a pretty ok choice.

Room 1 was too small for two adults. The glass door didn’t screen out the lights at the corridor. Sound proofing was terrible - glad that the other guests kept quiet after 10pm though, but could still often hear footsteps midnight.

Great location, can see lots of stars. Shower and bathroom was clean. Heating was good. Kitchen was handy.

Can’t control heating - room was a sauna. No soap left in dispenser. No paper towel. Shared bathroom was as advertised, however there is still an expectation of basic cleanliness which was not met. Furthermore, the bathroom (one shower) was shared between 8 rooms.

Self checkin was smooth.

Bit confusing to find the address. We reached there at night so was hard to see the exact lodge we were staying. We were given a map at the reception which was awesome. Only recommendation is to keep the big Horse shoe sign visible at night.

Noise carried into the room as people stayed up late and others got up through the night to go to the bathroom. Bring your ear plugs.

Unfortunately the bed broke one morning. The staff were super responsive in fixing it quickly, and will make a full repair. It was worth the extra fifteen minutes to Jindabyne or the mountain resorts for the value for money.

Rob was a lovely host. Welcoming, courteous and responsive. Being out of town, the setting had its own vibe and natural scenery. It was warm with all necessary amenities - a lovely claw foot bath (great for a weary body after a day on the mountain), and a shared kitchen and lounge area which was heated on arrival. Contactless check in was convenient. As few other guests were not booked there for the week, we were kindly upgraded to a larger room, which was a nice touch of the hosts. The modern locks to the rooms were secure and convenient. I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again, especially given the value for money. We also enjoyed the size - not too crowded.
