Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOne thing we found could be improved is that the room only has 1 socket, and that is by the TV. None by the bedside where we would normally find them in order to charge our phones overnight. Found it very strange. But not enough to lower the score.
For us the location was great as it it close to an Underground stop (Gasometer) and that took us where we wanted (direct line to Stephanplatz, in the city centre). Parking underneath the building for €15, found that convenient, easy to access. The room was large enough for 3 people, clean and had everything it should for a budget hotel. They also allow dogs which is a plus. There is also a petrol station just across the street which we used to re-fuel before setting off. From the hotel is literally 30s to get to the motorway, which is great. There is also a Billa supermarket (it was closed on Sunday when we left). We really enjoyed the stay and will be coming back.

United KingdomYou can hear people passing and walking along the corridor outside your room. Not much soundproofing I suppose, but also not a dealbreaker.
Location. Underground train station is just a stone’s throw away. You’ve also got Hofer and Billa within reach if you need to do some food shopping. For solo travelers or couples, the single room with double bed has plenty room and quite spacious. Overall recommend this Ibis branch in Vienna

I linked the cleanliness and the size of the room ( bigger than others Ibis) the window - which I can open for the fresh air, the hot water and comfortable bed. The staff is attentive and the relative proximity from the Ubahn station from the airport ( 15-20 minutes walking) is good. We only stayed one night and that alternative was cheaper than others, in the center of Wien

IrelandWalls and doors are thin and there was a lot of noise late into the night until 12pm from other guests, but it’s not the hotels fault people can’t respect others.
Room was clean and well presented, comfortable to stay in. Staff were very helpful at check in and friendly. Located 10 mins walk from the metro station, which brings you to the station near the CAT airport transfer train, so it is perfect for overnight before heading to airport

AustraliaThe room was very sparse with no furniture except a bed. The bathroom was not a fully enclosed room of its own. There weren't enough places to hang any clothes or put anything down and as a result you end up with all your things on the floor.
The location was convenient with the subway nearby. The breakfast was good, plenty of choice.

LithuaniaIt's sad when you book a room for 2 adults and a kid 11 years old with breakfast. And only after booking without possibly to cancel you get an info that kid's breakfast is not included. That info must be provided before. Also staff had different opinion if we need to pay for 11 years breakfast or not. Also room was not prepared for 3 people. Had to ask for towels
The location was very good.

TurkeyThe bathroom is not ventilated at all and is directly inside the room. Because of this, there was a faint but noticeable smell every time we entered.
We stayed for two nights and mainly used the room just to sleep. The location was very convenient, as it is close to Erdberg station where FlixBus arrives and departs, and it was easy to reach the city center with the U3 metro line. The room, shower, and toilet were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. It had everything we needed for a short stay. The Arena is very close to the hotel. There was a concert on our first night, but it ended around 11:00 pm, so our sleep was not disturbed.

FranceThe room is poorly arranged... the bathroom has an almost transparent window that opens directly onto the rest of the room, so when one person showers, the others have to stay with their backs to the shower... there are also only two sockets in the corners of the room, so it's not practical.
The hotel is quite well located, close to the metro and the city center easily accessible in 20/30 minutes
