Nice hotel/pension, with local and traditional style. The late self check-in was smooth thanks to the owner. A parking is available. The breakfast is really worthy. Although it seemed to be full, the place was quiet and calm, well isolated from outside (sound and temperature). The bedroom (for 3 persons) was good enough for some days. In a whole, I strongly recommend this place for any walk-around in the region.

Mattress/Pillows could be improved, but this opinion reflects my own preference.

Clean, nice staff, lovely location, very spacious and well equipped.

Pillows very uncomfortable, had back pain after 3rd night. Winter duvet, too hot.

Clean beds, Clean room

The reception and being told to use the backdoor next to the garage because we had a dog traveling with us. We also we not shown to our room and got lost in the premises while tired from a long dag traveling and wet from the rain. Unfriendly treatment, with too many ‘nots’ because of the dog.

Unfortunately we have to rate this hotel quite low due to very unpleasant experience at breakfast when lady (we expect it was even owner or manager) was so incredibly rude to us. She apologized but nevertheless her behaviour completely downgraded our experience.

The Frankenhof was a welcome break in the middle of our 6-day hiking trip between huts! The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely delicious (amazing warm rolls!)

There are not a lot of dinner options in Scharnitz, but the one restaurant was very good, if a little fancier than we would normally have chosen during a hiking trip

Location close to hiking trail

We had booked a 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment was quite spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the Alps. The hosts were very helpful and were quite accommodating of our requests. The sauna was relaxing after a long day of hiking.

Good location, quick train away from Seefeld and the train is free with the stay!

Nothing it was great!

This hotel is very near the center of Scharnitz and next to an italian restaurant that had great tortellini. I don't usually use spas/saunas, but their facility was amazing, and I felt relaxed after a long day of hiking. Scharnitz is a very small town, so it's within easy walking distance of the trailhead/info center as well as the train station. The staff was also very nice and allowed me to leave my main pack at the hotel while I went for a hike, much appreciated their hospitality.

It's hard to find any faults. There isn't an elevator if you have mobility issues

The room was very spacious. The proprietor was very friendly. Breakfast was excellent.

Located on the main road, the room was loud. It also could have been cleaner.

The staff is very helpful and nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was sufficiently large and comfortable. No complaints really. It is easily reachable with public transport (i.e., a very comfortable modern train) from either Munich or Innsbruck. It is a good place to depart (or end) your trek through the Karwendel park.

Beware that there are few diner options in Scharnitz. This shouldn't be a problem when you stay one or two days, but for longer stays, you'll probably want to hop on a quick train ride to Seefeld for alternative diner option.

Lovely Hotel, large room with balcony and good views. In a quiet village. Great buffet breakfast.
