Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaIt was a bit weird to use a self check in via some bar code especially when a person was standing behind the desk. If you don't have a smart phone you aren't able to check in. The scanning of passport didn't work and it was really hard to check in especially when being tired after a long day of travelling. The guy didn't help at all as he didn't care and it took us a few minutes to succeed! The elevator was too slow and dirty, the walls in the room were dirty as well, the floor was partially broken too. A small TV was on the wall on the corner close to a window and impossible to use. It was pretty hot outside as well as inside and we got a small air conditioning for using that somewhat worked, but to get some decent sleep was almost impossible. We got only two towels and had to use it for drying our hands as well as our bodies and hair. The pillow was too soft and another one wasn't available. When we checked out the lady at the reception didn't care much which makes you wonder why she is even working there. Above all next time I'd rather pay more and book elsewhere.
The accommodation is close to the train station but the google maps are misleading. So if you boom this be careful especially if you don't knkw Graz at all. The internet connection was fast. The room was big enough. It was relatively clean. The sheets smelled and looked clean.

United KingdomBar service: Yes, it does exist; If you're lucky and there at the right time, when there aren't many other guests in the bar, there might eventually be a staff member available to serve you a drink, although if anybody's trying to check in at the same time forget it and go into town instead... No air conditioning. Very hot in early July, even with the windows open, although they will lend you a fan for your room.
It's relatively cheap at an individual level (although expensive if you're paying for a 4-person room) and very convenient for all forms of public transport. Has (expensive) laundry facilities and a well-equipped guest kitchen. The staff are polite and friendly when they might eventually be available to you.

SloveniaI understand it's low budget hostel/hotel, but self check-in in front of the receptionist is a little bit weird. What would be if someone doesn't speak any forgein language or doesn't know to use smart phone options...there is an employee at the reception! Don't get it...

AustriaThe room that we got has not been cleaned. So we asked them to clean our room. However, they gave us another room.
The Staff was super nice and friendly. And the location is also great. What I liked the most is the affordability.

United KingdomHot drinks vending machine did not work for the entire stay; 5th floor terrace closed to guests for no obvious reason; could be great smoking area (massive ashtrays already installed) - no paper receipts for card payments, staff says it's because of "green policy" the management insists on, yet, I'm sure it must be illegal to deny paying customers paper proof of their transactions, especially to those wishing to claim expenses. Windows cannot be fully swing opened, can be a problem in the top gloor on a hot summer's day. Breakfast... no major objections but there is room for improvement. Scrambled eggs, a few other hot options. I've seen hotels in Vienna charging less than €11 for breakfast and offering many cooked hot items and more fruit, and cakes...
Convenient location, good pricing for single and double rooms. Imaginative online features such as pre-arrivdl check-in; food ordering etc. Lovely-scented quality shower gel and hand wash cream from installed dispensers. Beat most brands available from high streets

SlovakiaThe room was small and without air-conditioning. One pillow case was missing and for kids the beds were not made at all. Parking wasn't for free and had to pay extra - 17,50 for 24 h.
The beds were comfy, breakfast great!

Exceptional value. Great central location. Quite funky in its style. Basic but acceptable! Especially as a family of 4 would pay the same as a couple

PolandThe room was a bit rigid. I think making it feel a little warmer might make the stay more pleasant (a painting, a lamp that looks more cozy). Just small details, but they make a big difference. It’s okay for a night or two, since we mainly just slept there, but the whole experience could be a lot better.
The location was very convenient, very close to the railway station. The price was good. There was a possibility to leave our baggage before the check-in and after the check-out. There was a communal kitchen. Toiletries and towels were there.

LuxembourgBeds could be more comfortable. I hit my head several times, as an upper bed is relatively low. I felt like in a dwarf's place. What could be improved: - no electrical sockets near to each bed, - no lockers - curtains on the beds could give some privacy.
I like that the room was spacious and it has a modern bathroom. In bathroom you could find tissues, shampoo, and a foot towel changed daily. Shower area is of a good size and you can put your goods there. There was a full size mirror in the room.
