Reviews of Kantar Hostel

Kantar is a property with immense potential: the spaces are exceptionally large, allowing guests to relax comfortably within the hostel itself. Breakfast is well-organised and the food is good. The sheets were fresh and pleasantly scented, and there were no pests or animals, which is always a relief. The staff were kind and helpful throughout my stay, something I truly appreciated. Another clear advantage is the location – very convenient for reaching everything with ease.

There are, however, some aspects that need attention. Although staff were present throughout the day, cleanliness fell short of expectations. The women’s dormitory bathroom – spacious and with excellent showers – consistently smelled of urine, suggesting it was not cleaned thoroughly or treated with the right products, unlike the common-area bathroom which was generally fine. In the dormitory, food was sometimes left around, the room initially had a strong odour, and rules could be enforced more consistently to ensure comfort for all. Most concerning, my mattress was so worn that I could feel the springs, and by the fourth night I woke up in pain. During this trip I stayed only in hostels across the Caucasus, and Kantar was by far the most expensive – hotel-level prices, sometimes double or triple others. My rating reflects not only these issues but also the higher cost: I would gladly pay extra for breakfast, but not for a bathroom with persistent odours or a mattress that leaves me with back pain. Overall, Kantar is a beautiful property with great potential. With more focus on basic comfort and cleanliness, it could truly reach the excellence it aspires to. Sometimes less is more.

Great location in the city center, very clean and comfortable. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend Kantar Hostel for anyone visiting Yerevan!

Loved my stay at Kantar Hostel! The place is clean, cozy, and right in the center of Yerevan. The staff are super nice and always ready to help. Great vibe and tasty breakfast — I’d happily come back!

The hostel was consistently clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast was quite good. I would stay here without hesitation if I ever come back to Yerevan.

Perfect location, very nice staff, clean and calm. There’s a smoking area, great community area, fully equipped kitchen, and a coworking space. Lockers are in the rooms and big enough for a suitcase

The vending machine (well, it’s great that it exists) has limited snack options. Would be great to put something more substantial, e.g. sandwiches there as there are only crisps and chocolate bars

The rooms were comfortable and clean, the bathroom was clean, the breakfast was sufficient and delicious. Kantar was a place where I met many friends.

Sometimes the bins in the bathroom and toilet were not emptied and were full of dirty towels.

Super comfy beds, and a fabulous breakfast every morning!

The room had just the necessary things (bed, desk, 1 chair, closet)- it didn’t invite you to stay longer there. It would have been nice to have a second chair- especially if you are together, a mirror as well. You can cook in the shared kitchen but the limited a lot of kitchen tools- so you actually can’t really cook.

It states that slippers are provided but this is misleading, as in fact they are not and we have to purchase them
