Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceOur first accommodation on arrival to Albania. A good start as the location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to Skanderbeg square. Restaurants and shops nearby make it convenient. The rooms are clean and well equipped - no fridge but the one in the common area is available. The owners are friendly and very helpful. We liked it so much we stayed again on our way out.

United KingdomProperty wasn’t really close to the road side, If you are expecting a big villa with a large balcony and an aesthetically pleasing front view, I’m sorry this isn’t one of it’s just a small hotel, affordable, clean and with modern amenities.
Just as seen in the photos, lovely host I thought she was the receptionist come to find out that she owned the place. A really humble and friendly lady. Although room was advertised with breakfast, every morning, they served us croissants, hazelnut spreads and a cup of coffee/ cappuccino depending on what you like. Free WiFi available, rooms were tidy and clean, always willing to help, even provided an adapter when our chargers didn’t fit into the port. Out stay was wonderful all in all.

The location was perfect- within a short walk of shops, bars, restaurants and the main sights in the centre but down a very quiet street. The room was very comfy and the complimentary tea, coffee, orange juice and croissants for breakfast was a lovely touch. Would definitely stay here again

IndonesiaPerfect hosts - nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms are cosy. Free-flow coffee and drinking water downstairs and some nice croissants and jam for breakfast/snacks. A short walk (10 minutes or so) from Skanderbeg Square and a little further to Blloku and other parts of town. Overall, a wonderful stay and introduction to our Albania trip! See you again in a few weeks!

The staff were extremely helpful and gave very good recommendations. I love the common area on the ground floor the most. You can get coffee, juice, water, and croissants in the morning, and it's very comfortable just to sit there and relax.

IrelandThe neighbourhood around the apartment can seem a bit rough, especially at night time. Their coffee machine in the lobby, although free, was a bit complicated to use. I wish it had had instructions on which options to choose!
The hosts at Villa Noem are amazing, very easy check-in and they organized a taxi for us for our departure at 6am. The rooms are artistically decorated, comfy and spacious enough for two people with large luggages. Specifically the shower tiling was very cool. The balcony added a nice element and provided a cool place to chill at the late hours.

United KingdomNothing! It was great! But I should say that the noise in the corridor does echo- which is only an issue when people come and go, or talk downstairs. Otherwise it’s really quiet.
Beautifully decorated, with communal space and facilities in the entrance, and comfortable seats, and then comfortable, modern rooms upstairs. Hot water was plentiful, the air conditioning was excellent, and the bed was really comfortable. I loved it- my favourite hotel in the Balkan region so far! Very close to the main square and sights (10 min walk to the main square), but using main streets, which feel very safe. Staff were friendly, helpful and very responsive via messaging.

EstoniaYou have to park at least 500m away from the property and stopping on the street to get luggage will be tricky. Consider this if you're travelling with a car.
Location - it's located very close to the main square, so very convenient if you're exploring Tirana. However, it's on a narrow street, so stopping there with a car / taxi is a bit tricky. Property - it's small, cozy and modern. There is a small kitchen area and reception downstairs and you have to take stairs to get to your room. The kitchen has dining tables, plates and utensils and offers free snacks and refreshments. Room - rooms are small but has a table, fridge and clothes rack. Bed is comfy and clean. No views from the windows or anything. Bathroom - again small but okay with showers, hairdryer and towels. Overall, nice experience for short stays.

United KingdomThe stairs are a bit narrow so if you're coming with large luggage bear that in mind.
Villa Noem was a wonderful find - we were in a central location with no noise. The rooms were very clean and the kitchen downstairs was beautiful and had great coffee and croissants. The host was lovely and recommended a taxi company that saved us a lot of money going to the airport. Also loved that there were water bottles in the room when we arrived.
