How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe scenery from the rooms is ... breathtaking!! We could see the mountains first thing in the morning when we woke up. The staff is really friendly, speak decent english. There is a designated parking area (which can be crowded in the evening but we always found a spot to park). Keep in mind, that Theth village itself is ~10 min drive away, but if you have a car that shouldnt be a problem.

Verified reviewThe views were incredible, and our room was very comfortable and clean. The friendly staff went above and beyond for us, particularly Azim. Would highly recommend.
Location is a bit far (about a twenty-minute walk uphill) from the town centre of Theth and the start of the trails, which we didn't mind. Also, perhaps some way of managing the wasps and bees in the dining area, as they did unfortunately stop us from eating and enjoying the outdoor deck.

Verified reviewThe restaurant food and the waiters were nice.
Better to stay in the town centre as the views were truly better from there, surrounded by mountains and with more choice for more affordable food with better variety and close to the church and famous hikes. The property is a 30-minute uphill walk along a narrow, winding road with no pavement, quite dangerous to walk up. Wi-Fi was unreliable and slow. The terrace was full of bees, so we couldn’t sit outside, and bees even came inside. Breakfast was the same every day (eggs, bread, jam), they don’t even ask you. There are no other dining options nearby, so you must eat at their restaurant, which is good but not cheap. The bathroom was tiny and water splashed everywhere. The worst part was a last-day incident: I had confirmed a €180 taxi booking multiple times, but was told the day before departure it was €250. When I objected, the Egyptian receptionist said “Who will you complain to, the owner is my husband.” When I called him, he shouted at me, accused me of messaging too much, and even asked if it would please me if he paid the difference out of his own pocket - clearly to guilt me into paying. This created a very unpleasant atmosphere and ruined our last day.

Verified reviewBeautiful location, comfortable room, clean and well kept facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful and made our breakfast the night before so we could take it with us on our hike as we left early. And a wonderful friendly dog who welcomed us to the property and made sure we went the right way when we left the next day!

Verified reviewLocation wasn’t down in the valley where all the crowds were
Booked after reviews and photos seen on google, didn’t quite match up. Also, worst pillows I’ve ever attempted to sleep on, super hard angular foam, not comfortable and couldn’t sleep
Dear Faith, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. Please note that all the photos on Google are taken by our actual guests, so we’re surprised to hear that they didn’t match reality. We always aim to provide a genuine experience, and we take all feedback seriously to keep improving. Regarding the pillows, we understand that comfort can be a personal preference, and we’re currently reviewing options to offer alternatives for future guests. We appreciate your comment about the location being away from the crowded valley—it’s something many guests love about our place. We hope to welcome you again in the future and provide a more comfortable stay. Warm regards, Mohga Gamal General manager

Verified reviewThe view from our room was spectacular, we could see the valley and mountains. The room was good, especially for the heart of the mountain and the price you can't ask for more. The food at the restaurant was also really good (we had dinner there twice). Just be careful when ordering meals that are to share, as they are very big portions.
The WiFi did not work inside the room, we only had a good connection on the terrace. Maybe it was just our case, our room.

Maybe a bit more space for placing the clothes and a small fridge could have been useful.

Verified reviewThe team was wonderful - super caring and friendly! The rooms were nicely appointed and ours had a great view. We had several meals at the restaurant and the food was always great (highly recommend the trout, it’s as fresh as can be!). Finally, they had ample parking and we felt comfortable leaving our stuff in the car!

The bed was very uncomfortable. Takes time to walk to the village (which we were aware)

Synthetic bed sheets too slippery for me. Prefer cotton.

Verified reviewFood is amazing, very kind people.
Maybe a little bit far from the central station - just if you are tired after hiking the last 2km were quite difficult for us. The hotel restaurants prices is higher comparing with the dinner places closed to central market. But we were not able to come down for cheaper food, we ate at the restaurant. Just note your attention
