It was a beautiful and heartwarming experience to meet this family. We gained a true taste for Albanian/Greek life. If you stay, you will need a car as local buses don't exist and the roads aren't easy to walk but i would recommend this wonderful place to anybody and my daughter and i are so grateful for days we spent threre.

    Everything was wonderful.

Property is up near the castle, so a car is necessary to got to the beach. Lovely hosts, and a nice outside area to relax in. Great communication with their grandson. Wifi worked perfectly once we got the password.

Communication with the elderly hosts is difficult as they speak no English.

I cannot speak highly enough of this property - it is the best accomodation experience I have ever had. The hosts are beyond beautiful, generous, kind and welcoming. They constantly ensured we were okay and spoiled us with amazing food and raki. I felt so sad leaving and wish I could have stayed later. I hope to return one day soon. You will not regret booking this for your stay in Himare. The host speaks Greek but we were able to used google translate and hold great conversation. The property is the left turn after Bar 300 (there is a sign saying Sofias Room). After you make this left, it is your next right and the property is at the end of this road (about 200m).

This is such a unique place to stay, it truly is like being at home with your grandparents. I was so well looked after the whole time. It is quite far uphill from the new town, I’d recommend taking a taxi if you don’t have a car. I opted to walk and when I arrived I was tired, hot and sweaty. Gianni and Xanthippe are so beautiful, they sat me down and fed me a huge lunch. All the ingredients come from the orchard on their property so everything is home made. Gianni was kind to take me to the local cafe for a drink before dinner. Even though they don’t speak English, you can communicate fine with sign language and google translate. They very kindly cooked me a huge dinner and breakfast too. Their home is so beautiful with the grape trellises hanging overhead, gorgeous hydrangeas growing everywhere, chickens, rabbits, cats. It has a STUNNING view over the valley, the castle and Livadhi Beach. It’s also a 2 minute walk to the castle. The room is very comfortable and they will make sure you feel right at home. Their nephew was also very kind to give me a lift to Himare when I left. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here, it is a cultural experience.

    Nothing, all good!

The place is a must, if you visit Himarë and if you are open for an intercultural experience. Such loving and caring grandparents, that treat you like their own family. We got outstanding food and Raki made from their own garden and Greek coffee with a view over the castle, mountains, Mediterranean sea and their garden. Communication via Google translate worked just fine. The room was very clean and we had blinds to darken it and could lock the door for privacy.

The only thing is, that the water of the shower is boiling hot.

Xantieppe, Gianni and Michalis were amazing hosts!! Their house is perched in an amazing spot overlooking the sea and you are surrounded by grape vines, flowers and all the beautiful things they grow. My brother and I were treated like long lost grandchildren and, with the help of our Greek dictionary, we had some great breakfasts and interactions. Himare is are just a short taxi ride away too. Knowing this is an option, I would even consider staying in Himare.

Very friendly people, communication was mainly sign language as they do not speak english- but that was not a problem at all. The Food was self made, fresh from the Garden and really good (and a lot). The garden and the view is so relaxing and beautiful. You should know that the room is simple and it is Not directly in Himare downtown But uphill. But for us that made it perfect. We would definitely come again.
