Gjirokastra is a beautiful city, and the house's location is ideal for those wishing to travel there. It is situated between the castle and the old city center. The accommodations are comfortable and immaculate (as is the case with all Gjirokastra homes), despite the basic furnishings. Parking is available in the alley in front of the house, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is simple but very tasty and is served on a small, pleasant terrace. If I ever wanted to travel to Gjirokastra, I would gladly return to this property.

The road to the apartment can be a bit challenging due to the narrow and steep streets, but it's definitely manageable—especially if your car has a bit more power than mine did ;-)

Fantastic apartment located in the heart of Gjirokastër’s old town—just a 5-minute walk from the Old Bazaar where all the giftshops, bars and restaurants are located and 10 minutes from the castle. The place was spotlessly clean, and communication with the host was excellent and they were very helpful. Breakfast was also very good and tasty.

The kitchen was slightly outdated with gas burners instead of cooker. However, it was still fully functional and we were able to cook a meal with no problems.

The view from the property is amazing. The bed was very comfy and the A/C was great. Albin is such a kind man from the start. He helped me park the car before we had even arrived. He was available when we needed help with turning the cooker on late at night. The breakfast was included and was huge and tasty. We would 100% recommend this property to any traveller that likes a taste of local culture.

It was very nicely located near the castle and the old town. We were there in April so the room felt cold but they provided enough blankets to feel comfortable at night. The breakfast on the terrace was delicious with a beautiful view and the owner was super friendly and responsive.

Very comfortable room. Great views over to the mountain when having breakfast on the patio. Good, hearty breakfast and lovely mountain tea. Very convenient for attractions in old town. Albin was a great host.

The room was clean, perfectly tidy. It’s a traditional house in the heart of the city center run by a family. The host was very nice and attentive, provided us with recommendations and helped park our car. While the entire city is steep, the location is ‘easily’ accessible compared to other places in the area. Also, delicious breakfast with amazing views.

Great small family run guest house. You have a large room and adjoining private bathroom to yourself. Freshly cooked breakfast in the morning. 5 minutes walk downhill to the old town, 10 minutes steep walk uphill to the castle. Get a taxi if you arrive by bus, the town is very steep to walk upto.

Super friendly staff. When we arrived the host had a parking spot for us, he helped us with carrying our bags to the accommodation and made sure we had everything we need. You have a seperate private bathroom. The location is easy to reach by car (a bit uphill but nothing challenging). The location is also very close to the castle and the bazaar. Would stay here again!

It was not easy to park here. Our car was big and parking was quite steep.

The Fir Gate is located in the centre of Gjirokaster so close to sightseeing, restaurants, shops. The hosts (mother and her son) were very nice, it had a family atmosphere. We had typical Albanian breakfast included which was served on the terrace. I liked and praised herb tea which was made of Sideritis syriaca as I found later and was given some herbs as a present. Thank you :-)

The room was a bit dark.

The place was in the old citycenter and very close to the old basar, nice bars and restaurants. They had a small nice terrace. The albanien breakfast was very good and big. The owner vere friendly.

The people running the hotel are friendly and helpful. Ability to park outside is appreciated as is the pet-friendliness. The central location of the hotel is of great advantage. The overall homey feel is good for a night or two.

The location was perfect to visit the city! Everything cosy and clean and a full breakfast in the morning to start the day! Space for parking and all time available staff!
