Everything was amazing. This is a wonderful place with a beautiful view and all the comforts in a traditional house. Many thanks to the hospitable family. The location is very close to the old town and the castle.

A lovely apartment/room in an old traditional house, with everything we needed - fridge, air con, comfortable beds, kettle & mugs etc, lots of space including outside with amazing views . The location was nice & quiet, away from the noisy central. It’s halfway up a steep hill & parking is not difficult but not on the doorstep either. The host was really nice & helpful.

Getting to the property to unload was quite stressful due to narrow twisting roads. Property bathroom stayed a little humid due to limited ventilation. A kitchen area would have been useful.

The apartement was really nice - the inside is like the classical gjirokaster house. Location - in old town, close to bazaar, castle and everything. We were able to park the car on the street, but have to say that the streets are really narrow and steep there so we only recommend to drive if you're an 'advanced" driver.

I loved staying at RIVA Guesthouse. The host was very communicative and responded to all my questions promptly. The Guesthouse was located under the family's property. They were extremely kind and they welcomed us at the front door when we arrived. The mother washed and ironed our clothes upon request. The location was great a quick walk to the historic part of the old town. I will mention that the walk back to Riva Guesthouse is uphill, but was not too bad. This stay exceeded our expectations.

A very cozy authentic house! And the owners are very helpful and friendly. A good place to explore Gjirokaster.

Parking is difficult. But the owners are very helpful when you have problems with parking.

The guest house looked beautifull. And on the terrace you have a stunning view.

The beds were not comfortable. They were good but really hard.

This was very special as we had a beautiful place to celebrate our friend getting married. The location was great but most importantly the hospitality of our host. They made our Albania trip unforgettable. As a group of girls traveling, we felt looked after like they were our family.

Friendly and generous landlady, communication through translator worked quite well. Beautiful old-school room with wood-carvings on furniture. Nice surroundings, although quite far from the city center and quite hard to get to by car. A cosy yard with toys for children.

The landlady does not provide breakfast, and the facilities to make our own breakfast was rather limited. The room was quite cold, even early in the summer. No closet to unpack our clothes.

Beautiful room with character. A small complementary bottle of raki in the room was a nice touch. Very nice views from the garden over the valley and the city. Very short walk to the historic centre. Friendly host!

The property can be reached driving up narrow and steep roads which can be intimidating for inexperienced drivers. Note that check-out is at 10 am, which is a bit too early.

The host responded quickly to our messages and was very helpful. We arrived at the bus station in a downpour and the host’s father picked us up and drove us to the guest house. We really appreciated that. It is a very beautiful and cozy place. Often accommodations aren’t as nice as the photos, but Riva Guest House definitely was.

We ate out most of the time, but we also like making some of our own meals. There wasn’t much room to prepare food . There is a table and chairs outside, but it was too rainy and cold to use them while we were there.

Amazing and beautiful, traditionally decorated apartment ❤️ Very close to the Old Town (5min walk). The hosts are lovely :) 10/10!! Totally recommend!

Very interesting to stay in a traditional Girokaster house with fabulous views over the town, valley and mountains. We felt we were in the middle of nature with the greenery, trees and birds singing. The room was very clean and nicely decorated and furnished. The parents of the owner helped us with our suitcases and were very kind and pleasant. There was a fridge and a kettle and some crockery and cutlery and there were some nice seating areas outside.

Not the owner's fault but noisy dogs close to the house kept us awake during the two nights we were there. The property best suits someone with a car or with light luggage - for two elderly women with suitcases the roads up to the house were very difficult (however we took a taxi and the owners helped us with luggage as the taxi driver could not get up the final hill). The bathroom was very clean but the floor stayed wet and was not safe - if a mop is provided people can dry it. The water tank / pump made some noise every time the tap went on or the toilet flushed which was not great - perhaps it needs some maintenance.
