Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe private bar & restaurant area with sunbeds (easy 4 minute walk, located on a large wooden platform by the sea) was a fabulous spot ably staffed by very friendly hardworking & professional people. Breakfast was good & the rooftop bar/pool was a quiet retreat

BelgiumThe sea view was disappointing with several ugly buildings spoiling the view. It was also rather expensive.
Friendly staff and nice private spot at the beach and good rooftop pool.

Great location, breakfast amazing, roof top pool and having its own beach club!!!! Super helpful staff that sorted a taxi pick up from the port to the hotel (13€). View was amazing, really quiet rooms. Definitely more relaxing at this end of town but you can easily walk to all the action along the beach front path.

NorwayA gem in Ksamil:) The location - the facilities - the breakfast - the rooftop pool and bar - the room - the balcony; it was all perfect. And the best thing with Porta Ksamil ; the staff!! You made our stay perfect - thank you so much! This is a new hotel, 5 min walk to the bus stop and shops/restaurants.

This hotel was excellent. Easy and free parking, great location on the quieter north end of Ksamil, good breakfast with really good coffee, and friendly service. Access to the Nysa beach club is a huge plus. It’s really well done. Loved staying here and wish we’d have stayed longer.

AustraliaWe really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is located a short drive or 20 minute walk from the main beach clubs in Ksamil. The room was nice and very clean. The hotel staff were so lovely and helpful, the breakfast was great. Highlights were definitely the rooftop pool (great sunset views) and the free beach club as part of the hotel.

United KingdomFor some reason, there was a brief power cut twice a day - in the evening and during the early hours. Bit annoying because the air-con switched off too, so we had to get up in the night to put it back on. Pool was lovely but would be difficult for less able bodied people to get in and out perhaps
Lovely helpful staff, fabulous beach club and great rooftop pool. Short walk into the centre which was ideal as the location meant we were away from the noise.

United KingdomThere is no coffee machine in the room. Complimentary water wasn't replenished daily- had to request it a couple of times. No closed storage space/ wardrobe. Lack of hooks to hang hand towels in the bathroom. Beach club is nice and relaxed with lovely staff and great service, but it's on a platform; doesn't have a sandy area. Air conditioning seems to go off when the electricity switches off momentarily at night.
Spacious triple room with a spacious sea view balcony, a comfy bed, and a modern feel. Spacious bathroom and shower. Bidet available. Great housekeeping- super clean. Lovely toiletries, bathrobes, slippers and great air conditioning. In-room safe. Free and easy parking available. Extremely friendly breakfast staff, receptionists, and housekeeping who go out of their way to help. Good breakfast with gluten-free bread and dairy free milks available. Free access to the Nysa Beach club very close by, 5 min walk. The beach club had non dairy milks too, which isn't very common in Ksamil- big plus for dairy free coffee lovers. Market and restaurants are only a short walk away. Beaches are also easy to walk to.

United StatesWe LOVED this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and always helpful. The room was very comfortable and large enough for 3 people. The balcony was perfect. The amenities the hotel provides are wonderful -- delicious breakfast, gorgeous pool overlooking the water with a bar and food service, and beach access run by the hotel with a restaurant just a 10 min walk from the hotel, and they provide nice towels. Even though it is a 10 min walk from the hotel to this beach area, the restaurant was delicious, the setting is beautiful, and there are plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Note that there isn't really a sandy beach access like some other beaches but a stair access directly into the water. The hotel is a 20 minute walk into the downtown area with many restaurants and bars. Take a drive down south to Maestro beach for a relaxing beach day with chairs/umbrellas and food. We highly recommend staying here for your visit to Ksamil!

Out of the six hotels we stayed at during our trip to Albania, this one was by far the best. Everything was absolutely amazing — from the wonderful staff to the beautiful private beach, the great pool, and the delicious breakfast. We had a small issue with our room, and the way the staff handled it truly exceeded our expectations. Not only did they fix it immediately, but they also went above and beyond with a thoughtful gesture we never expected. To top it all off, it was my birthday during our stay — and we were surprised with a beautifully decorated room that made the day even more special. The service, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere were just perfect. Highly recommended — we’d love to come back!

AustriaThe rooms were pretty, although we struggled a bit with the available space; there was no wardrobe to put away your clothes, only a rack with ~5 hangers. The floor space was also limited so two people could not leave their suitcases open. We then just used the couch as an open wardrobe. The bathroom floor needs getting used to, as well as the walls - but especially on the shower floor around the drain it already looked a bit worn down. Water streamed out of the shower head where it shouldn't, but my partner was able to fix the seal. Sadly not for the bidet-hose next to the toilet, the constant dripping was only fixed in the last two days of our stay (although we mentioned it at the reception). Another thing that was quite annoying was, that in the first few days, the power went off couple times a day, also once at night when we were sleeping. This was always followed by an announcement sound over speakers, which of course woke us up the one night, but nothing followed, so we were a bit afraid, that something happened.
Breakfast was good and offered every day a different national speciality. You could either get yourself a black coffee from the tap, or you could order a special serving (milk alternatives available!) We also liked the rooftop bar and pool, a nice place to enjoy a cocktail at sunset and take a refreshing swim. The staff was very nice, we got fresh bath towels every day to take them to the beach. They also tried to help us find the beach lounge belonging to the hotel, but I'll admit it was still a bit tricky to find 😅 The lady at the reception said we should go past "Mr. Crabs", but there was none on the way to the beach, only one in the city center. She also couldn't show us the exact location on Google Maps. So we just made our way in the approximate direction and asked around at the different beach clubs. Nobody seemed to know where our lounge is, in the end the owner of the "Needlefish" restaurant could show us the way. There we also found out, that a big crab was painted on the walls of the restaurant with the label "Mr. Crabs". So to help future guests: as per now (June 2025), the beach lounge belonging to the hotel is named "Nysa Beach Bar & Restaurant" on Google Maps and is farther behind the "Needlefish", coming from the hotel. It's NOT "Porta Beach Bar & Restaurant" as one might think! Once you are there, it's really nice. The sea can be rough at some days, and you can only enter the water via two metal staircases that lead right into deeper water. So keep this in mind when visiting with small children!
