Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe are elderly and found going upstairs/downstairs quite an effort without bannisters and the lift was out of order. The hotel could do with a some refreshing and repairing, such as better air-conditioning, working lifts, and some room convenience, e.g. tea/coffee making facility in the room, bottle drinking water.
We liked it in Tirana, the hotel was comfortable, the owners, management, and staff were very helpful and assisted us whenever required. The hotel is near a park and close to bus stop. The breakfast was good. and varied. The swimming pool was good , but busy at weekends due to day trippers.

It was great to have a pool, as the weather was so hot. The staff were friendly and made us very welcome. The breakfast was included and was acceptable. There were cooked fried eggs and boiled eggs, selection of cold meats, chesses, croissants, pastries, cereal, fruits, coffee and fruit juices.

United KingdomIt was a bit far from.the centre of town (25 minute walk), although we did know this already of course. If I'd been on my own (and I do often travel solo), I don't think I'd have liked the walk back to the hotel after dark. The internet was very poor in my room, and on our last night totally non-existent. The fridge only works whilst you're actually in the room, with the card key in situ
We chose Orchidea Hotel, which was quite a bit more expensive than other options we'd looked at, because of the swimming pool, and it didn't disappoint. It was fabulous to be able to cool-off and relax after a hot and humid day in the city. The breakfast was also excellent - and meant we could pretty-much miss lunch. Great staff too - everyone was friendly and helpful, especially the younger guy who checked us in and was really helpful when I needed to print my boarding pass. Then, of course, the beautiful turtles who live in the fountain in front of the hotel - I'll swear the larger one recognised my voice.....!!

United KingdomWe were only there for two nights as we then moved on to Durrës. We probably wouldn’t have wanted to stay any longer, mainly as our children (17 and 14) found their beds quite uncomfortable. If I was going to be picky the lift wasn’t capable of taking us all and luggage at same time and didn’t work at all on one occasion but really not a problem. It was a little way out from the main city centre but as we were only there for the two nights it wasn’t a big deal. If you’re staying for longer in Tirana and wished to see more of the city sights you may want to be closer. We based our search on property having a pool as we knew if would be scorching and our teens great grumpy when hot 🥵 😄
The hotel is perfectly fine for what we paid for two nights including breakfast. Pool is small but wasn’t ever really busy and we were able to get a sunbed every-time. The changing rooms and toilets around pool area leave a little to be desired but didn’t cause us any problems. Staff were really lovely and helpful although a little confusing trying to get a drink in the evening sometimes 😂. Good location and there’s a nice area very close by and a walk around there in the evening was very nice with lots of families with young children relaxing and enjoying the skate park and play area. Good places to eat and drink nearby. Hotel booked taxis for us if required no problem inc arranging a taxi to pick us up from the airport back to the hotel.

SloveniaSince we had google maps we did find the entrance of the hotel but if you don't have any, you can easily miss the entrance. A board with the hotel's name should stand at the main street and point to the hotel.
We liked the pool, breakfast was ok. The beds were huge and very comfortable. Wifi at the pool was perfect but sometimes got lost in the room. They have a bar at the pool and you can order drinks and food. We needed printed boarding passes and they printed them for us at the reception for free. We were advised where to go for dinner and it was an excellent choice.

QatarCustomer service can be better. After all, it’s hospitality. No excuse for delaying someone’s food order for almost 2 hours, without checking in with the client, apologizing and making a good gesture. Not very nice. If you super busy, then inform the guest from the beginning or don’t take orders. Simple.
Mixed feeling about this place. Location is not very central, it’s a good 2km walk to the center. Enjoyed the room, very old school and bathrooms are spacious and very clean. Ordered food from the pool bar while at the pool, almost 2 hours later and no food. They blamed it on being busy without apologizing or taking action to make things better. So I cancelled my order and went outside to eat.

RomaniaI booked a double deluxe and got a twin. They offered to change after the first night but the room they offered was still not the one in the photos when I booked. You can't find anyone at the reception, but if you ring the bell they are around. You can only tell who is in the staff after a few days when you get to know them, they have no badge or tagged clothes. The hotel is a bit outdated (rusted soap holder, leaking air conditioner). Asked for late check-out as compensation for the room issue but was denied even though I checked and they had plenty of free rooms that day.
Beds are very comfortable and the pool is very nice. Breakfast has quite a few options but same every morning. Staff is friendly. Location is just 15-20 minutes walk from center and airport bus stop and the area seems safe.

IrelandThe fridge in the room turns off if you’re not in the room which doesn’t make much sense to me because the heat makes food spoil, outside of that though there is little to no complaints

SlovakiaThe hotel is older but comfortable; they could not provide a baby cot for our little daughter, but the bed was huge so it was not a problem.
We had a nice and comfortable room with big balcony; the staff was very friendly; they provide a private parking (5EUR / night); the hotel has a nice swimming pool and garden with many turtles. Location is quite good, about 15 minutes by foot to the main square.

United KingdomRoom Air Conditioning was poor, but I think it is centrally controlled, and was not turned on in late May.
A little out from the main city centre (a 25 minute walk). Hidden behind other buildings, but in its own area. Very nice pool area, although pool was deeper than normal. We enjoyed a morning relaxing by the pool.
