How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There are only 2 bathrooms for ~16+ people so you have to wait to use the toilet sometimes. Also, a water filter in the common area would have been nice in order to fill up water bottles
Best location ever! Great WiFi! Beds with full curtains , outlets, & lockers. The owner is super kind & they accept credit card payments for a 2% fee which is reasonable.

The hostel has an amazing rooftop with a beautiful view, everything was very clean and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Great location

Very nice host! A small kiosk to buy drinks from the hostel with good price. Lots of restaurants near. Nice small garden!

Metal lockers are noisy while sleeping if people take things in and out.
Super comfy beds and pillows with privacy curtains all round. I could have slept for days. Spacious room. Individual lights and power. Lovely host. Great location.

Where to start, one of the greatest hostels I have yet to stay at. The location is perfect, in the middle of the city centre down the side street in a tucked away alley that is super quiet yet feels like you are in the your own Oasis. The people at the hostel attracts are very friendly and happy. Would not call this a party hostel but rather a place to hang out and chat as well as get a good night sleep compared to some hostels and are dirty and super loud. The manager of this place Elkid is an absolute legend amongst legends his passion for his city and his country shines. Elkid will show you a local map that he has created with the perfect restaurants, attractions and things to do. Elkid knowledge on the world and history in his country is on another level. The accommodation itself is all that you need, nothing over the top, everything works excellent, he has created the most ideal accommodation known to man. Everything is super clean and organised and well planned out. I will be recommending this to all my mates and everybody in Albania couldn’t be happier!!

I have been to probably over a hundred hostels at this point and hands down this is one of the best ones so far. It is right in the center, yet quiet given it is in a small dead-end street just off a main avenue. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. Free clean towels are provided (which is unusual for hostels, they typically charge for a tower or have not towels at all). The beds have privacy curtains and every one gets a locker with a key (you do not need to have your own padlock like in most hostels). There is aircon in the rooms, which is a new one so it is not noisy or smelly. The owner is very helpful, approachable and flexible when it comes to check in times. Overall it was a wonderful experience, I will be sure to book again if I am in Tirana again.

- the host was sometimes nervous about my questions. I know dealing with people can be hard but he could be more polite and professional. I didn´t feel so welcomed. But on the other hand, he was helpful with travel advice :)

With shared bathrooms, the ratio of guests per bathroom is high.
The location is optimal. It's a wonderful value for the money. Wifi worked well. Comfortable common space in the lobby.

Very clean and modern hostel. The hostel is 2 minute walk from the Bazaar, but the location is ”hidden” from the mainstreet, so the noise from the main street doesn’t come to the hostel! The owner was super nice and giving recommendations for my trip even outside Albania! The volunteer Louisa was also super helpful. I appreciated the minibar in the lobby!

The kitchen is tiny, but everything else makes up for it.
Some hostels should serve as an example to others, and this hostel is one. The new Bazaar is managed and maintained to a very high standard. The guest's needs are more important than anything else. The beds, the lighting, the curtains, the air conditioning, are all praiseworthy.
