How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe liked this hotel a lot! The staff was very polite, social and helpful on everything! The entrance is amazing, the location of the hotel is scenic (Mountain View) The staff changed our room to our request of wanting a balcony, even though it isn’t really allowed and we didn’t have to pay anything extra! The room is spacious, looks very modern and has every facility you would need The breakfast was fascinating! They brought us a full table of amazing food that we really liked for only 5€! We also opted to take dinner here and they made an amazing job here as well! We ordered fish and potatoes, and they kept bringing us dishes from the house! It was unexpected, but pleasant! Overall, if we could give this hotel an 11/10 rating, we would!

Verified reviewThis hotel is absolutely first class with modern rooms, fantastic facilities including an incredible bed, beautiful linen, modern bathroom, wall mounted flat screen TV, beautiful views. The breakfast was always fresh with home made treats and the coffee was divine! The hotel is about 7mikes fork the main town if Schkodër so a car is advisable for getting about.

Verified reviewWhen we arrived in the small city we were not expecting this kind a luxurious hotel. The room was spacious. we even had our own balkony with small table and our bathrope. The bathroom is a bit small, but perfectly fine. The staff is super friendly. The buffet breakfast was nice. We even got some home-made pudding. You can easily park the car in front of the hotel on the grass.
The shower drain was clogged, but they immediatly appologized and were fixing it.

Verified reviewHotel is well located, near the town, but in a calm and quite area. Everything in hotel is new and clean. The staff was very helpfull. We did not have problem with late check in. Great thing was that we had parking space secured for us! Would definitely come again!

Verified reviewI stayed at the Montflux hotel for several days in a room with a balcony. The room was seemingly brand new and was very nice. I was working remotely (lots of video calls) and the wifi worked perfectly. The staff were incredibly kind and drove me several miles (free of charge) to Shkoder upon my departure. They also offered me use of a bicycle to get around the area.
I stayed in July with heat of 34C, so it was difficult to enjoy the nature and the adjacent town has very few options available for those getting around on foot. To avoid this issue, I would recommend renting a car. The shower did not drain well.

Verified reviewI stayed at this new hotel in Shkoder and honestly, I was blown away. The place is super clean, modern, and has everything you need to feel comfortable. But what really made it special was the amazing family running it—they were so warm, thoughtful, and made me feel totally at home. It's also really quiet, which was perfect, and there's a beautiful river right next to it that just adds to the peaceful vibe. You can feel how much love and care they've put into the place. Verified reviewThis is a new building across the river from the village. It has been nicely designed and rooms excellent. Friendly and helpful reception, room sparkling clean, huge bed, really nice. Well located for the Mesi bridge and worth allowing extra time for walk up to Drishti Castle - or rather, the village below the castle (hike up to castle from there is problematic!!). This was a Feb. visit, but host still managed to put on breakfast. Huge breakfast, way more than anyone could eat (I was only visitor in hotel!)… Various restaurants close by in the village.
If you don’t have own transport, then a bit of a walk out from Shkodra. Probably worth to orgainise a taxi one way at least. There may be mini-busses running? Nothing obvious, but worth asking. Otherwise, at least take taxi out from Shkodra and walk back on the quiet road on N side of the river. That huge breakfast? Very generous, but then an extra charge if you actually want coffee with it!! I expect they will get rid of that one in time… (I feel it can be difficult for locals in rural areas to guess what would look like breakfast to a foreigner: Who is at fault on that one?- All credit for trying so hard to please!!)

Verified reviewIt's a brand new hotel. It looks beautiful. Stuff is trying to do their best to keep you happy. Breakfast was great. I would recommend this hotel.
Unfortunately because the hotel is situated in small village we had ofter no electricity at night (so the airco when on and off the whole night), and we didn't had warm water. During our 3 days we didn't receive also fresh towels every day. Stuff is also not speaking English very well.

Verified reviewThe hotel is new and is located in quiet and nice area. We enjoyed relaxing time. There was not any issue to get to the city center in 15 minutes to Skodra. There is no problem with parking. We got sick and Hotel PEROSNAL was ready to help us in every manner (doctor, buying a medicine). Very nice of them. Breakfast was simle, but sufficient for our needs. I wish to Monflux hotel many happy guest. Once we come back we will choose Montflux hotel again.
There is a room for language (english) improovment, however we were able to understand each other. (Thanks Adrian)
