I really recommend staying at this Guesthouse! The owners are very friendly, everything is clean, they serve homemade meals and the view spectecular. You can‘t reach the house by car. It is best to walk from Theth or to park your car next to the closest coffe bar.

Absolutely loved staying at Marash Rrgalla, the most amazing hosts and delicious breakfast. Couldn’t fault a thing there during our stay.

    Property response:

Thank you so much guys, it was so nice to meet you :)

We had a great time at Marash Rrgalla Guesthouse! The food was great and the room was clean! Note that you have to hike up for about 45 minutes to reach the guesthouse!

The views were amazing and in the middle of the nature and the hosts were the most friendly people.

You do need a 4x4 car if you want to travel by car to the accommodation or you need to walk for about 30-minutes uphill.

The food was all delicious, and the host family are very friendly and accommodating. The Guest House is clean, and it is a great location if you are doing the Theth to Valbonë hike, as it is slightly out of town and close to the trailhead. The view of the surrounding mountains is amazing.

The only thing to be aware of is it is an uphill walk from Theth village.

Food was incredible all homemade and locally and mostly from the garden. Very friendly hosts, stunning scenery and worth the slightly arduous 40 min hill climb to get there . A truly unique experience we will never forget. Wonderful!

The walk up was quite tough. You can talk a local into a 4x4 taxi ride for 20 e ask at the market after a full day day hiking we gave up and ordered one to get our lovely dinner!!!!

Lovely guest house! Beautiful family running it. We stayed 2 nights and the location is stunning! Beds are comfy. Freshly cooked traditional breakfast in the morning, so good! We also paid for dinner one night (organise earlier in the day, 15euro adult/10euro for kids) and it was also amazing. Stayed here with our 3 young kids and it was perfect for a couple of day hikes. One thing to note, we came from Shkoder and it’s a 45 minute walk uphill to the guesthouse from where the bus drops you (faster without kids). We got a taxi (it’s very rocky uphill so more suited to 4WD) to take us up for 20 euro, as our kids were ratty. Otherwise to and from guesthouse to Theth village, was actually a lovely walk (without backpacks).

We arrived after a long windy hungover drive from Shkoder and initially had no idea how to reach Marash Rrgalla. Thankfully, a local in a pick-up truck with an experienced eye for lost wandering tourists offered us help and took us up the windy off-road track further into the hills to reach Marash Rrgalla. We arrived late, really late, around 10:30pm which was no problem for checking in despite our anxieties. After dumping our stuff in our lovely room (the guest house itself is stunning) we sat out on the garden benches in the pitch-black amidst the peace of Theth's nature. The host, we soon realized did not speak much English, however made the effort to come up to us smiling and offer us "beer or wine?" on his phone using translate. Short story long, the stay was amazing and rejuvenating. The included breakfast in the morning and views from the guesthouse set us on our ways perfectly.

I think it's one of the best places to stay in Theth. The location is amazing! The family if very helpful and hardworking. I appreciate everything they did for our comfortable and good time, and shared the space at their house with us. The food and home made raki are just unforgettable!

The house and garden were breathtaking, the homemade food was delicious, and we were served more than enough. We felt safe and secure in our private room and the view was incredible from our window. Although there is a road up the mountain, you would need a 4×4 to get up it. We were driving a VW Golf and there was no way we were getting up so we hiked 30 minutes from Theth to the guesthouse (taxis are available to take you up for around 20-25 euro) When we arrived at the guesthouse the hosts were very kind and fed us a lunch since we were famished. The hike down is much more enjoyable 😉 We also took a trip to the blue eye during our stay, which you can get to with any vehicle, as the road was paved 3 years ago. If you're considering the Valbona hike, the guesthouse is located near where the trail passes and we'd recommend it for any hikers.

There was a bit of a language barrier as we didn't speak Albanian, but when needed they had their daughter translate over the phone.

The property was an authentic Albanian guesthouse with beautiful views of Theth valley. A nice cosy place to come back to and relax by the fire after days of hiking. The food was amazing with everything being homemade and from the property’s garden. The host were extremely accommodating and helpful!

Recently stayed here for four nights. Marash and Albina cannot do enough for you. Homemade produce made for hearty breakfast and evening meals. A proper traditional farmhouse that is over 200 years old. Absolutely fantastic 😊

The most beautiful family who went over and beyond to make us feel comfortable. All food was made from the farm and it was delicious. Could not recommend them enough.

Martina is fantastic and very responsive. The location was challenging as it is a 45 minute steep walk up from Theth. The room is very basic and breakfast is local. For people coming down from Valbone-Theth treck this is probably a great location.
