Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyI really recommend staying at this Guesthouse! The owners are very friendly, everything is clean, they serve homemade meals and the view spectecular. You can‘t reach the house by car. It is best to walk from Theth or to park your car next to the closest coffe bar.

IrelandThe walk up was quite tough. You can talk a local into a 4x4 taxi ride for 20 e ask at the market after a full day day hiking we gave up and ordered one to get our lovely dinner!!!!
Food was incredible all homemade and locally and mostly from the garden. Very friendly hosts, stunning scenery and worth the slightly arduous 40 min hill climb to get there . A truly unique experience we will never forget. Wonderful!

United StatesDifficult to find (Google Maps only helped so much) and you MUST have a 4-wheel drive car to make it even just part of the way. You can also hike, about 40 minutes (steep) from main Theth village parking area. Besides that, it was absolutely perfect.
What an amazing experience!! Marash and Albina were such kind and generous hosts, and were quite communicative despite the language barrier. Definitely have breakfast and dinners at the property/farm; the food is plentiful, fresh, delicious (especially the dairy from their cow and my boyfriend loved the breakfast petulla!). The homemade wine was delicious as well. The view from the garden and our room was simply amazing. We loved how the mountains changed depending on time of day and lighting. The room itself was rustic and simple, but comfortable. Thank you Marash and Albina, as well as Fred and Martina. And special shout-out to Sweety, the friendliest cat I’ve ever met!!! Warning: It is definitely a challenge to find and get to the property from Theth main village- either a 40 minute hike or 15 minute bumpy drive (IF you have a 4x4 car!!) but it’s worth it for the draw dropping views and peace and quiet.

AustraliaLovely guest house! Beautiful family running it. We stayed 2 nights and the location is stunning! Beds are comfy. Freshly cooked traditional breakfast in the morning, so good! We also paid for dinner one night (organise earlier in the day, 15euro adult/10euro for kids) and it was also amazing. Stayed here with our 3 young kids and it was perfect for a couple of day hikes. One thing to note, we came from Shkoder and it’s a 45 minute walk uphill to the guesthouse from where the bus drops you (faster without kids). We got a taxi (it’s very rocky uphill so more suited to 4WD) to take us up for 20 euro, as our kids were ratty. Otherwise to and from guesthouse to Theth village, was actually a lovely walk (without backpacks).

United KingdomWe arrived after a long windy hungover drive from Shkoder and initially had no idea how to reach Marash Rrgalla. Thankfully, a local in a pick-up truck with an experienced eye for lost wandering tourists offered us help and took us up the windy off-road track further into the hills to reach Marash Rrgalla. We arrived late, really late, around 10:30pm which was no problem for checking in despite our anxieties. After dumping our stuff in our lovely room (the guest house itself is stunning) we sat out on the garden benches in the pitch-black amidst the peace of Theth's nature. The host, we soon realized did not speak much English, however made the effort to come up to us smiling and offer us "beer or wine?" on his phone using translate. Short story long, the stay was amazing and rejuvenating. The included breakfast in the morning and views from the guesthouse set us on our ways perfectly.

CanadaThere was a bit of a language barrier as we didn't speak Albanian, but when needed they had their daughter translate over the phone.
The house and garden were breathtaking, the homemade food was delicious, and we were served more than enough. We felt safe and secure in our private room and the view was incredible from our window. Although there is a road up the mountain, you would need a 4×4 to get up it. We were driving a VW Golf and there was no way we were getting up so we hiked 30 minutes from Theth to the guesthouse (taxis are available to take you up for around 20-25 euro) When we arrived at the guesthouse the hosts were very kind and fed us a lunch since we were famished. The hike down is much more enjoyable 😉 We also took a trip to the blue eye during our stay, which you can get to with any vehicle, as the road was paved 3 years ago. If you're considering the Valbona hike, the guesthouse is located near where the trail passes and we'd recommend it for any hikers.

IsraelMartina is fantastic and very responsive. The location was challenging as it is a 45 minute steep walk up from Theth. The room is very basic and breakfast is local. For people coming down from Valbone-Theth treck this is probably a great location.

What a splendid place! We spent two nights here and couldn’t speak more highly of it! The location is beautiful, tucked away up the hill from Theth. The family’s hospitality was amazing. Breakfast and dinner was delicious, made with local produce from their properties. (Martina’s soups were particularly tasty!) The bedrooms are simple but super comfortable, plus you’ll want to spend your time outside as the view is simply stunning!

SlovakiaIt would be nice to have something to cover the windows at night.
We really liked our summer stay, the daughter is very nice and helpful, we loved the meal, the surroundings, overall it's a real magical traditional house. We really recommend to people that don't mind walking and hiking and exploring, that don't need modern and luxury facilities, to people that like old farm houses, simplicity. Everything was very clean.
