How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe room was clean and spacious and had an amazing view over the water. The breakfast was lovely and had a lot of options. The staff were also very friendly. It’s a little bit down from central Saranda which is quite nice as you’re away from the hustle and there are plenty of great restaurants and markets around.
It’s on a hill so bit of a steep walk if you don’t have a car so you’ll be getting taxi’s a bit if you don’t want to walk up and down the hill. In saying that though it’s not far to the main street - about 5 mins.

Verified reviewStaff was super kind, rooms super clean , they were helpful and welcoming , the speak English , Italian , Greek , breakfast was lively and also the view. Our room was really nice and we had a full balcony for us.
It’s a bit uphill, but easy to reach you have to be on good shape to do the Staines on the way down to the beach.

Verified reviewThe people running the hotel are so lovely and helpful- they gave excellent service, and whenever we requested anything to our room/ help with something, they responded immediately. We were upgraded to a sea view room, which we were so grateful for as we had been travelling a lot by that point and were looking forward to spending more time in the hotel. We could see the sunset from the balcony. The room was spotless, excellent A/C, modern bathroom with excellent water pressure, clean towels every day and a kettle/ coffee machine. Breakfast was the biggest spread we had in Albania, with the most stunning view. It was also always easy to park as there is a separate parking area directly outside the hotel. The location was pretty good as it’s a 5-10 min drive to the main areas in Sarande, but also a 5-10 min drive to the downtown area in the other direction where there’s lots of restaurants. Ksamil is about 20-25 mins away. Overall, we had a great 3 night stay and would come back again :)

Great location for town and the various beach bars. We used Lost Seaside..Great evening if a little pricey.

Verified reviewThe lady who runs the place was exceptional- we arrived early and she gave us coffee and pastries on the house. The hotel is very new and spotless
Location- 20 min downhill but steep uphill walk to return to hotel. Worth it as the hotel has a lovely view over Sarande. Only other point is that some of the younger male staff expressed some stronger views in reference to misogyny and Andrew Tate. While we never felt unsafe, it did slightly taint our experience. This was a one-off and did not reflect our visit to Albania where we met so many lovely kind people such as the lady running the hotel.

Verified reviewFantastic stay, new hotel, awesome staff (especially Silvana and Johnny). Great location, nice breakfast buffet in the morning. The hospitality was real and we enjoyed our stay very much.
The only thing missing is a pool. It would be a great addition, but it's probably the location of the property hillside that does not leave space for a pool.

Verified reviewThe hotel is very modern and the room was very large with a nice view of the ocean. The breakfast bar area was wonderful and the breakfast was quite plentiful. They also provided towels for the beach
I would have rated it higher except for the location. We did not have a car and it was a very steep 10 minute walk down to the beach and then back up. It was also located far from the main beach and hotel area unless you have a car to get you there

Verified reviewI recently enjoyed a fantastic stay at Hotel Litan in Sarande, and I can't say enough good things about it! Silvana, the owner, truly went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of excellent. She was incredibly helpful, even assisting us with last-minute changes before our arrival. Dearest Silvana - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!! The hotel is in a newer building and sits like a castle on top of the hill! The views are amazing! Parking was really easy and the Breakfast too was both plentiful, tasty and wonderful, and gave us our supply of "fuel" for the day! The hotel itself was impeccably clean, and the staff were absolutely lovely, always ready to assist with a smile. The views from the hotel overlooking the marina were breathtaking, adding to the charm of our stay. Plus, it's just a short walk from excellent restaurants and lively bars, making it easy to explore the local scene. I highly recommend Hotel Litan for anyone seeking a delightful stay in Sarande, complete with stunning views and exceptional hospitality!

Verified reviewVery modern hotel on a steep hill overlooking Sarande bay. Beautiful views of the sea and Corfu (island in the distance). Nice balcony although should be privacy barriers between the balconies of the rooms. Room had everything we wanted; nice beds, refrigerator, drawers and hangers for clothes, and spacious bathroom with nice shower that had good water pressure (water does get all over the floor). Front-desk staff was extremely professional, friendly and helpful. Views from the restaurant/breakfast area (large glass windows) were stunning. Hotel-provided private parking across the street in a small dirt lot was adequate (no problems; many fancy cars parked there). Beautiful and touristy large town to spend perhaps two nights (not a week), with an old castle complex on a hilltop close to the hotel.
Breakfast was good but far below par for a hotel of this caliber (you pay extra for a coffee drink other than drip coffee; eggs were so-so at best; no granola or nuts available for yogurt so we bought our own at a store). Our room (4th floor) was directly below the restaurant/breakfast area so could constantly hear chairs being moved when restaurant/breakfast area was occupied. Hotel should create a formal entrance/exit in the back (bottom floor) to walk down to beach area quicker (is confusing at first to figure out best way to access the beach and town, but you'll figure it out). The area immediately surrounding the hotel needs to be upgraded; lots of trash and construction taking place, with many partially-built structures.
