Access to the accommodation requires a lot of walking uphill, which may be difficult for some guests. The internet was not always stable and in the shower the water ran outside the shower, reducing its functionality a little.

The room was very nice and clean, in a picturesque location high up in the castle, with a nice atmosphere and many shops nearby. Very positive that they accept payment by card.

I had a great experience staying at Te Kalaja Rooms in Gjirokastër. The location is ideal — close to the castle and within walking distance to everything. The room was very clean, cozy, and nicely decorated, with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, always available and ready to help with anything I needed. Their hospitality truly made a difference and made me feel at home. The traditional breakfast was fresh and delicious, served with great care. I highly recommend Te Kalaja Rooms to anyone visiting Gjirokastër. It’s a charming and peaceful place with a personal touch that makes the stay unforgettable. I would gladly return!

Comfortable room and bathroom, very spacious. Close to the castle and to the center. Since we had to leave at 8AM and the breakfast only starts at 8h30 the family was kind enough to prepare us a breakfast the day before. Available parking space.

We had a lovely time here, everything was exceptional. A short walk to the main town and to the castle (be mindful the roads are cobble and can be steep). Room was clean, tidy. Hosts were absolutely lovely and even ironed a few tops as we had forgotten to pack one. Could not recommend more and will be back in the future.

The location is slightly outside and a steep walk up from the center (not recommended if someone is not good on their feet, especially in summer). The 3-bed room is dark and not as nice as the deluxe room. Breakfast starts only at 8:30, could be a bit earlier.

Super clean, quiet and comfortable room. The deluxe room is very nice, with a good bathroom. Breakfast and lunch was excellent, fresh and home made. Short walk to the castle. Excellent value.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the castle, the old town and on the way to the Ali Pasha bridge. The rooms are very comfortably furnished, clean, beautiful. Breakfast is rich and tasty. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Internet doesn’t work very well in the triple room, it would have been very useful to organize the next day of our trip. No parking (as written in the description). They help you park the car in front of the street, but the streets are very narrow and with rented cars, you never know :)

The position is perfect: super close to the city center, but not in the busy streets. Breakfast is super: they bring you a lot of food. The room was nice. The owners are very kind and want you to feel at home.

The room was very clean, and everything was functional. The hosts were very kind and helpful, they own the restaurant next doors and were extremely friendly and generous with the guests : we had free deserts every time we got food there, even a free take away Burek for the road when we left. The lady speaks English and it’s quite easy to communicate with her. There is a free private parking for the guests next to the room. One evening we had dinner at their restaurant. There was only one Albania family having dinner there as well. The owners put on what seems to be a popular Turkish tv show with Albania subtitles, the owners and the other Albanian family were completely immersed into it, it was an amazing local experience - we felt like we are part of an Albanian family sitting in their living room !! I highly recommend staying here

It was the perfect stay. We were a group of 3 and the room was perfect for us, clean, tidy and everything was new and functionable. The hosts were amazing dhe so kind, we felt so welcomed. It is just 5 min away from the Old Baazar dhe the Castle, which was really great. Also, the breakfast was so delicious. We are totally coming back again when we'll visit Gjirokastra dhe totally recommend it.

There is no parking close to the room and the police is actively giving parking tickets (we only put the car there to get the luggage). The wi-fi in the room was quite bad and there was really loud music from the restaurant next door that was consistent and kept going until late in the evening.

Good place to stay in Gjirokaster! The hosts were very friendly and the location is perfect next to the castle. The restaurant next to the room is good and also the breakfast was great!

One of the best rooms we have ever booked! We liked it so much!! Very clean and beautiful room, perfect location (near to the center). The owners very friendly and the did the best for us. We ate also dinner in the hotel's restaurant and we ate delicious and traditional albanian food!! The breakfast was full!! Our room (double deluxe) had perfect view and was perfect decorated! 🥰

Nice family that runs the place and offer great service. The whole accommodation looked quite new and the room was big, clean and comfortable. It has a nice location just 5-10 minutes walk to the lovely center of Gjirokastër, away from the loud music from the 2 clubs. The view from there was nice and is close to the castle (less than 5 minutes walk). The accommodation has a little centre in front as well where the best restaurants are. Special shout out to the breakfast which was incredible and for sure the best breakfast we had during our holidays in Albania. Fresh fruit, feta/spinach pie, omelets, vegetables and cheese and sausages accompanied by bread, jam, honey and a local marmelade.
