Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceDinner was a bit pricey but Maria gave us one night for free because we took only soup (due to food poisoning in a previous stay). Bed mattresses were a bit hard. Could have shower curtains in bathroom. Roads are narrow and unpaved but reachable with a sedan.
Stunning 360-degree views of the Albanian Alps. Rooms are in a traditional kulla (stone tower) house in a mountain village. Maria, Joni and Liliana are lovely hosts, tirelessly running the guest house - from the kitchen to the farms. Maria’s home cooking is a treat.

United StatesIt was a little walk to get there, if you follow google maps , there is a new road that takes a little less time that is not showing. Follow the map and when you get to the point you are walking past the hostel take the lower road.
The setting was beautiful with the farm atmosphere. The food was great and Maria is a good host.

SpainIt's 2km from the centre of Theth, but it's worth it.
It's a wonderful place to stay. The family is very friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts and dinners are delicious; they cook awesome with vegetables from their garden, and the prices are very good. It has beautiful views and is a little closer to the Valbona trail than the other accommodations.

SpainIt's a little far from the village of Theth which is fine as long as you've planned for it. They have a fridge on site with drinks, but if you want snacks / treats, you're better off picking these up while passing through the village.
Beautiful accommodation in a peaceful valley - think the sounds of cowbells, goats and sheep (and roosters in the morning). Breakfast included and a lovely family meal provided for €10.

Germany-
It was such a great stay, honestly it couldn't have been better! I really enjoyed the ambience at the place, everybody was so friendly, helpful and kind. I also loved getting to know all the animals. The guests are a nice mix between families, couples and solo travelers and the dinner always made us feel like a big family. Thank you so much, I will definitely come back!

AustraliaNot a negative but be wary of the time you arrive back from your hike as you may miss dinner (although there is some great food if you head into town). Little far away from town and end of the hike, but still lovely location.
Maria welcomes you into her home, and creates a very social atmosphere. The room was quite cosy and had access to washing machine, fantastic shared shower (the best we had in our 2 weeks travelling Albania). Theth was a beautiful area, must visit. Breakfast was very generous and tasty.

Maria is such a warm and generous host. This is a beautiful farmstead on the edge of Theth. As we walked through the town, we realised this was by far the most beautiful setting. The food is all farm to fork. The butter is incredible, home churned, golden yellow! Thank you for your kind hospitality.

GermanySince Theth has just dirt roads and the location is a bit outside of Theth driving to the location is a little bit adventurous with a normal car but doable. Not that much an issue but you need to drive carefully.
Very warm welcome. I got even a room upgrade. Clean room. Very nice room for breakfast and also dinner.

United KingdomWe drove over to this accommodation in a rented car. This was doable- we did not have a jeep/ 4 by 4- but had to drive very slowly on the rough terrain and had to move sharp rocks out of the way of the wheels. Just worth keeping in mind, as the last 2km of the journey off the main roads took us about 40 minutes to avoid a popped tire. Would recommend using the road that passes through theth centre, rather than the one that comes in from the north like we did, as this road could get quite narrow, steep and windey.
The most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The hosts were incredibly kind and warm. Located about 30 minutes walk from the start of Theth to valbona trial, and 45-50 minutes from theth centre, where the start of the hiking trials can be found. But this walk is so beautiful, it could be a part of the hiking trials- passing a little stream and bar to cool off. This place felt very magical- completely submerged in nature. We were able to see fireflies over the meadow at night, lots of butterflies in the day and had delicious homemade meals made for us. The small village was also quite lively with a few other accommodations next door- it was perfect for meeting new people and getting ideas for the day trips :) Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

United KingdomExpensive compared to everywhere else i’ve been in Albania. However its supply and demand. Better seating outdoors would be nice
Nice family run place, slick operation as they are very well set up for tourists (Valbonë - Theth hike gets busy in peak season). Spacious rooms, nice and clean.

United KingdomThe guesthouse is about 45 minutes away from Theth so if you want to eat at a restaurant or go to town be prepared to walk a long way. Also Maria might come unannounced into your room in the morning.
This is a lovely place to stay, great for the Peaks of the Balkans trail. Staff were attentive and the room was amazing.
